I want to see our old cinema back as it will help the youngsters with things to do and boost the life and economy of Ringwood.
it will also protect and breathe new life in a lovely old historic building to protect our local heritage.

I live in Ringwood but visit Wimborne nearly every week to go to films/shows at the Tivoli. I would love Ringwood to have a venue like the Tivoli & feel it would bring a lot of revenue into Ringwood.

I believe that buildings should not stay unused for long periods of time. The building in question should be either demolished and replaced with something that will enhance Ringwood High Street or it should be refurbished and made usable again.

I also believe that a cinema would be a bonus to Ringwood.

It was a terrible eyesore until it was boarded up a couple or more years ago and it is such a waste for a good site not to be used. likewise with a lot of the empty shops.

such a shame that this building that could be a great feature in the centre of the town has been left to get so dilapidated.

I used to play squash there 25 years ago - it's a lovely space.

The new Furlong development phase 2 claims to be re-furbishing the town hall but this is misleading people, because they are intending to knock down most of the building and just retain the façade. This is not what local people want, we have needed a multi-purpose hall/theatre/cinema for years, ideally in the town centre. It will be a shame to lose this opportunity.

We do not want more shops or cafes, we need something to draw people in of all ages, give us a theatre pleased

This an attractive building and has links through Ringwood's past. It deserves to be refurbed and opened up for people as a centre for arts and music.

I used to help in the projection room when I was a kid and fondly remember the Saturday Morning matinees. It started me on a life-time interest in films

I would like to see the Regal restored, and used by local people. It should be used and turned into what the people of Ringwood would like to be.Cinema or arts center
This town needs somewhere to enjoy in the day and evening.

I've heard that there is nothing inside now, it's been gutted. It's just a facade at the front and will cost too much to do anything with it. Is this true?

It is indeed just a shell and the costs to rebuild will be in excess of £4-5 million. But the advantages are that it is a blank canvass in the very desirable position with easy access to car parking and the Twon centre.

It is in fact just two very large open spaces on two levels. Both are big enough to house theatre/cinema or function room for large corporate events. There is no downside.

This is a great idea, Please Ringwood needs a Tivoli and a Regent centre combined.

It's a beautiful building that should be fully utilised by the folk of Ringwood. If Christchurch & Wimborne can do it so can we!

I use to go to the cinema every Saturday morning every weekend until lit closed as a young boy, as every young Boy and Girl did, some great memories of the past, would be great to see it shine again in the centre of Ringwood.

I believe that Ringwood town centre would benefit from the cinema being available. This would encourage businesses to stay or reopen in Ringwood and would increase tourism plus local tax revenue benefiting everyone.
