there is not enough things for the youngsters to do in penzance and this is a great way to keep them happy and fit at the same time.

Somewhere and something for children and young people to learn a new skill / improve on existing skills whilst keeping fit out in the fresh air. No more needs to be said ...

For four years now ive been travelling back and fourth to Blackwater (Truro) BMX track, and taking part in the Regionals around the South West, to have a track in Penzance would surely bring in a great vibe for the kids of the town and surrounding area's and help them with fitness and also social skills and of course some BMX skills! Blackwater track is the only track in Cornwall lets see if we can make it two! lets remember this sport is open to all ages, i mean im 43 and still loving BMX racing :)

A fantastic idea for the youngsters of Penzance...if everyone gets behind the idea,it will be great to see something happen down here for once and something that benefits our youth.Look at the success of the skatepark...keeps children occupied, active and happy.

Every town should have a bmx facility. This is an Olympic Sport that gets kids and indeed all ages into something healthy and productive!

We fully support a BMX track in Penzance.
30 years ago we approached our then local council to provide a BMX track facility for the local youngsters as we could see there was a growing need for this. The local council then were absolutely no help whatsoever. We will always be grateful to a local builder who loaned us a piece of land to build one of the first BMX tracks in the country. This track facility was enjoyed by over 200 members of The West Cornwall BMX Club who had many national and international successes and also included a visit by the top USA BMX team of which one was a world champion.
We always knew that one day the land would have to be used for building and is now a very nice housing estate. We'll always be indebted to the kindness of Mr.Peter Richardson for the opportunity to provide the local youngsters with a safe and healthy way to enjoy themselves.I hope, more than 30 years down the line you have more success with our current local council who will see the benefit of this much needed facility.

Who would not want a national level BMX track in the town? An Olympic sport that could drive on generations of people to do sport and progress to higher levels - Brilliant and much needed.
