It's the best way to our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters in Bantry! The flight from and to Amsterdam is every time well used by many people. And what about tourism? Ireland has just invested a lot of money in "The Wild Atlantic Way", that starts from Cork-city!

What a waste!
Sort out the depts and fees.
Don't loose that nice building which may not have been needed.
Plus all those buildings, hotels, carparks. Etc.

I am shocked that Cork airport would not be considered viable. Cork airport is an important gateway to the West of Ireland and we have used it many times to fly from Manchester when visiting West Cork. Often visitors do not wish to visit Dublin which is a goodly drive at the end of a long flight. Cork airport is also an important shipping port for trade.

Shannon has lower passenger numbers than Cork, is a much older facility and serves a city and region with lower population than Cork's. If one has to be closed, even a politician should be able to make the right call there.

Having a good, functioning airport nearby helps tourism and business in general, not to mind being a important service to the general public in the area. Why would one not want to save Cork Airport? Surely something can be done to reschedule the debt.

West cork tourism will suffer greatly if cork airport is closed, cork is Ireland's second city; will it be written off without an airport ?

My opposition to Ms. Carr's conviction and sentancing is based on what is obvious to anyone who takes the trouble to read further than the sensational headlines and horiffic details of the victim's death: Her rights as a suspect and defendant were denied and violated, and the facts proven in court proceedings do not make a First Degree Murder charge appropriate in the first place. Nor is her conviction consistent with Florida law.

When i lived in Cork i think i flew on every route out of Cork airport. No fuss, fast security and short commute times. Great and necessary amenity to the South of Ireland

I fly to Cork 4 times a year to study at UCC. If it wasn't for the direct flight from Lonoon I would never have registered at the Uni. This would mean loss of my cash to the local economy in terms of income for UCC, the hotels, taxis, buses, restaurants, shops and pubs etc. that I use in Cork. Stop this crazy talk of closure and USE this precious resource.

Lisbon is a key holiday destination, also with it's proximity to the Algarve, as well as supporting expats - keen to see these flights return and not lose any more.

Scrapping the Swansea-Cork ferry was a big blow for the people of west Cork and those visiting them. Closing the airport would be disastrous. Don't let it happen!

Cork has a growing international community that supports local businesses. It is essential, that not every journey is to start and end with hours on the bus to Dublin. What a waste of time.

Businesses in the West depend on this route - Holiday makers need to arrive in the West and not have to spend days travelling back from Dublin. Airlines from USA can save fuel by landing here. The airport creates jobs and vibrancy.

Keep Cork airport. A developing city like Cork needs a running airport to fulfill the needs of its big international community. Save Cork airport!

Dublin already have the ' love Dublin ' campaign, why can't we have a ' love Cork ' equivalent? It could be connected to the Save Cork airport campaign.

Because Cork is the only airport we can reasonably fly from without travelling for miles! It is only 1.5 hours away from us.

A very well known international poe living in Cork refers to this airport as Kinsale Regional Airport. Why? Because of its diminished stature from 'international' but can we even call it a regional airport at this juncture because it does'nt provide regional flights.None within the country of Ireland let alone outside. In the early 70s an American friend of mine visited regularly from San Francisco. After many hours travelling she would arrive i
