Save the historic Greenville Bus Depot!

What:  This is a petition that is calling for the protection and restoration of the Greenville, NC bus station, located in Uptown Greenville.  The station was constructed in 1943 and was designed using modernist architecture popular in the 30's and 40's and is one of the few remaining examples of this in Greenville.  The purpose of this petition is not to stop the development of this entire city block by Rael Development of California, but to redesign the site plan to include the preservation of the station for retail or restaurant use as part of the project.  Also, the inclusion of street level retail space on the street level of the newly constructed buildings is desired.  We would like to work with the developer to make this concept a reality.

Who:  My name is Zachary Pate and I am a senior in the Urban and Regional Planning program at East Carolina University.  Together with professors and a few fellow students, we are hoping to make this process a success.  We are offering design services, renderings, and tenant location for the bus depot.  The core group to reach in regards to this project are myself, Gaines Townsend, professor in the ECU planning department, and Gilbert Combs, senior in the ECU planning department who will be offering design services.  Others are welcome to join this process and help make this a reality!

Thank YOU!
