Mauriora ... whiti te ra ... just sending a quick update.

Thank you again to all who have signed and shared this petition .. your support is greatly needed to protect and preserve our Mountain, waterways and lands out to the sea.

I am posting the link to view the protest at the Tag Oil office in New Plymouth.

We left our message with the Manager and then went for a march around the CBD of New Plymouth.  The petition with all the signatures is now in the hands of Carl Adamson who has filed the application to the Environmental Court.

If you are interested in following the updates and regular information that is being posted up on face book then go to "From the Mountain to the Sea Stop the drilling in Taranaki Hui".

Have a great day and keep supporting your local action groups who are lobbying to keep these drillers, explorers and miners out.... Taiki E!

Nga mihi nui kia tatau katoa.  Thank you to all who have participated.

It started out with a small group of marches from Parihaka to Hawera and it has grown from there.  The petition was created on the 28th November 2013 along with an application filed with the Environmental Court by local Iwi on the 6th December 2013.

Working together with Ngaruahinerangi Action Group we then called a meeting on the 7th December 2013 at Kanihi Pa, opening it up to wider networks and support to come together in Solidarity for this huge kauapa.

Five weeks later we are all so much more aware of information and have the support required to kick TAG Oil and their subsidiaries to the curb.

The petition will end this Thursday, 9th Janurary 2014 as we prepare to tell TAG Oil to stop all Drilling/Explorations near our Sacred Mountain on Friday, 10th Janurary.

We will inform people who have signed the petition of any outcomes and developments by e-mail.

Na reira Nga Hau E Wha ... Piki te ora ... Piki te kaha .. Forever at the Beloved feet of Ue te tapu .. Maunga Taranaki .... Mauriora!  :-)

Update:

2013-12-11 03:02:35

Awesome...we have reached 10022 signatures and growing in momentum. We have spent much time at the Tag/Vector sites over the last 24 hours and the latest update is that Tag Oil need to manage their roading with 81 trucks operating in and out from the site on a daily basis, to Resource Concent specifications in order to proceed to their drilling date. At this point Tag Oil spokesperson Mrs Smith has indicated that they are to give 20 days notice to all stakeholders prior to their schedule date. For those who have visited the upper Rowan Road site, you will see that you can barely get a car up there even though 81 trucks, and that it is also a dead end road with a house at the end. You can see where the land on either side of the road is where Tag will be utilizing and earth moving to create large movement of machinery.  Thank you all for your continued support ... please keep sharing.
