Dear Supporter,

Thank you to all the recent signatories to the petition.

This is a quick reminder that the centenary photoshoot, with Gwen Taylor, will take place outside the theatre building at 2.30 p.m. this Sunday, the 20th July.  We would be delighted to see you there.

Derby Hippodrome 100th anniversary

2014-07-07 13:42:02

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for supporting the Derby Hippodrome Restoration Trust when you signed our petition to save this Grade II listed building.  We still have a long way to go to achieve our aims and I am writing to you now to ask you two things.

  1. The 100th anniversary of the theatre comes up in a few days time: the first show there, September Morn, opened on 20 July 1914.  We are planning to celebrate this centenary with a photoshoot of at least 100 people outside the theatre at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday 20 July 2014: we would be very pleased if you, and possibly some friends, came to join us.  We are expecting the local press and radio and, hopefully, the local TV to be there.  Our President, Gwen Taylor, will be there to help demonstrate the importance of this building.  Do join us – it will last about an hour and will help make an impact for our campaign.  It would be a help if you let me know if you are coming: anthonyjaggers@btinternet.com
  2. Although we have a good number of signatures on the petition and some more through a manual version, we would like to increase the number: it would be great if you could persuade one or two of your friends to go on line and sign up – the address is www.petitions24.com/derby_hippodrome (please note the underscore after derby).

Yours sincerely

Tony Jaggers,

Director, Derby Hippodrome Restoration Trust
