Alabama in Klerksdorp North West Province need a Police Station

The Community of Alabama in Klerksdorp, North West Province has had enough of the senseless crimes and the struggle to get police services and protection. Community organizations previously submitted a petition to the provincial police leadership and the community was simply ignored. That’s the reason why we now demand that our constitutional rights be respected.

The South African Police services is governed by Chapter 11 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 (Act 108 of 1996) that stipulates the South African Police Services has a responsibility to: Prevent, Combat and Investigate Crime. Maintain Public Order, Protect and Secure the inhabitants of the Republic, and their property; and uphold and enforce the law. Create a safe and secure environment for all people in South Africa. Prevent anything that may threaten the safety or security of any community; investigate any crimes that threaten the safety or security of any community; ensure criminals are brought to justice; and participation in efforts to address the causes of crime. To provide for the establishment, organisation, regulation and control of the South African Police Service; and to provide for matters in connection therewith.

We, the undersigned, petition the National Minister of the South African Police Services to:

  • To Construct a Police Station in Alabama, Klerksdorp, North West Province as a matter of Urgency.
  • To meet Urgently with the community regarding the crime infestation.
  • To ensure the safety of the community as per the constitution of RSA.
