blink-182 European Tour Summer 2011

We are true and loyal blink-182 fans from all over the world who have already bought expensive festival tickets just to see our favorite band, paid for booking flights, hotel rooms, visa, requested day-offs, spent double money on eBay for the sold out dates.

"It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce our planned 2011 European Summer tour has been rescheduled [to Summer 2012]. When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the Summer. Turns out we were mistaken as the album is taking longer than we thought and won't be out till later this year. We hoped we would have some new songs to play rather than do another 'greatest hits tour' which you all saw last Summer." (Words from the band's official statement.)

It's not an acceptable reason to cancel the tour. We didn't expect a 'new album tour', maybe 1-2 new songs but mainly classics that haven't been played on the 2009-2010 Greatest Hits (Reunion) Tour.

(Fan question from the Twitter Q&A on January 5th, 2011: "on the european tour will you play oldschool (not greatest hits) songs as well as brand new ones? it would be amazing". Mark Hoppus' answer: "setlist for future tours-new song, old song, old song, new song, very old song, new song, old song, mix of everything. thanks everyone!!"...)

blink-182, you still can fullfill our wishes. Do the European Tour in 2011, finish the album, then see you again in 2012. Fair enough, isn't it?

We support the band each and every day in every way. Now please support us, fans! If you agree with our last-ditch request, sign this petition, and share the http://tinyurl.com/blink2011 link with your friends! Thank you!

PS - Rethorical question: If the tour has to be cancelled because of the album making, will Tom's other projects (writing another Angels And Airwaves album, promo tour for the Love movie) be paused while the blink record is getting finished?

PSS - This petition is NOT about "we don't want a new blink-182 album", it is about "we want the new album after the 2011 European Summer Tour". (Since the release date will be specified by the label, and the label has two options, "before the festival season" or "before Christmas", it doesn't matter if they spend a month in Europe before we can get something new. Don't expect the new album before November, even if it's finished in August. Or in September if you add that one month of the tour.)
