Child Abuse

Child abuse is possibly not the first thing you will think of when you think of something bad, but it definitely should be up with the top 5. Child abuse is a growing problem all over the world, with parents thinking they can abuse their children for no reason aside their own benefit. There are 4 main forms of child abuse, those are neglect, sexual, physical, Psychological abuse.

Neglect:

Neglect as a form of abuse is the act of not caring for someone who one cares for. For example if you cared for your parents but your mother did not accept you as a person or did not care for you, that would be classified as neglect abuse. This is bad because children at a young age need to be cared for, if they are not this will affect them in a lot of ways such as the child could develop depression. This needs to be stopped because it is the main form as child abuse as 34% of most abusers use this form of abuse.

Sexual:

Sexual abuse is as the name describes the act of abusing a child in a sexual way. In the U.S, 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys are victims to child abuse. This could mean that your friend could have been a victim to it and you would not have known. In a persons life time 28% of the teenagers, ages 14-17 will have experienced sexual abuse. At first 28% does not seem like a lot of people, but statistically, 90753260 people will experience child abuse, which is a lot of people.

Physical:

Physical abuse is the act of in a way bullying someone, or touching them in an agressive and hurtful way. Physical is the second most common form of abuse. The most common injuries caused by physical abuse towards children are bruises, burns, abdominal injuries, fractures and finally head injuries. These injuries show a high risk of sevear problems for that childs future because of where these injuries are. Head injuries could potentially lead to strokes, which could lead to death if not treated correctly. Abdomial injuries could lead to digestive problems or liver problems mainly. This is because the body parts influenced will have been ruptured in a way which will have damaged them.

Physiological abuse:

Physiological abuse is similar to physical abuse in a way, in so far as problems from physical abuse could cause physiological problems, which can be classified as physiological abuse. Physiological abuse is the act of hurting someone not physically but emotionally. This can be a big problem for children of ages between 7-13 because your brain is in a developping stage which defines some parts of you for the rest of your life. If one is to abuse a child physiologically, this could lead to the child believing the abusers words. For example if one was to constantly say that this child is stupid and will go nowhere in life, after a certain amount of time this child could possibly begin to believe these words and stop trying in school and quite whatever they enjoy most in life.

How you can help:

To help stop this horiffic problem in this world, you can donate to charities which help children who have been abused or charities who are fighting to stop child abuse. You can also spread the world about how bad child abuse is to 18-21 year olds to stop any risks in the future, even though the vaste majority of people will never abuser or hurt a child in any way.
