We all know that the governments and its higher authorities of the world seem to enjoy censorship in a bid to "protect" us from doing what we have (or think we have) the human right to do such as playing violent video games or having the right to our own opinion.

In 2011 Australia will be one of the few select countries to have an internet censorship in place, in which we will be have a mandatory filter on most sites that include content with online gambling (free games or otherwise), pornographic content and even most pages on Wikipedia. There is absolutely no way to opt out of this system.

After hundreds of thousands of signatures collected by video game retailers, we are STILL yet to have an R18+ rating for games. Reason? "The government wants to protect children". Let us all wake up and realize that adults play video games too and adults are not children. We have constantly witnessed movies and books removed from shelves because the government wants to train our input and they believe they can resolve the crimes in the world by removing certain contents from our streams.

It is time we stand up for our rights as individuals and stop allowing the government to treat us as if we are children who cannot decide for ourselves. Silence and censorship has gone on for too long. Man cannot claim anything controversial these days without being mysteriously wiped from the planet.
We all know what happened with the likes of Julian Assange.
