Eastvale Ban: Multiple & Short-Term Renters in Single-Family Home

I am a current resident of Eastvale, CA. Public records will show that the name I enter below is associated with my current Eastvale residence.

I support a ban on multiple renters, as well as short-term renters of less than 30 days, in single-family residences. I urge the Eastvale City Council to enact the following ordinance, similar to ordinances enacted in Chino Hills and Arcadia to address this very issue. Such an ordinance would ban Airbnb rentals, birthing home operations, and other arrangements that detract from the integrity of our neighborhoods. This is a significant quality of life issue, as neighborhoods should be made up of neighbors, not guests.

The ordinance I am proposing is as follows.

"Transient lodging uses (of less than 30 days) are prohibited in residential zones. Boarding homes are likewise prohibited in residential zones. A boarding home is defined as a residence which may or may not have an owner, agent or manager in the residence, wherein a) two or more rooms are rented to individuals under separate, concurrent rental agreements or leases, either written or oral, or b) three or more individuals rent under separate, concurrent rental agreements or leases, either written or oral."
