Qu'une institution musicale NATIONALE comme le Danish National Chamber Orchestra soit menacée est un signe très grave, c'est presque comme de dire à un malade qu'on va lui enlever le coeur parce que ses médicaments coûtent trop cher...

If capricious bulls are allowed to ruin the china-shop of culture in a social democracy, I fear that worse will be happening here in England. A great orchestra requires years if not decades to form, yet it seems that it takes only months to completely dismantle.

As a representative for one of Swedens two unions for professional musicians, Symf,, i strongly support a future for the DNCO. Most of the arguments are already posted on the website of DMF, the Danish musicians union.
Let us work together to preserve professional musicianship on the highest level insted of populistic projects without any longterm values!

It's amazing that in the name of economic crisis and the cuts end up with a cultural landmark for over 75 years. The worst of the crisis is ignorance

#58 Suicide act for Denmark

2014-09-18 10:34

Wonderful Orchestra with great world known conductor Adam Fischer. I was a member of this ensemble for 7 years and this was the best time for me to be in Denmark. People loved our joy to play. We gave all our attention and power to build something important in Copenhagen. This Orchestra is a big part of Danish Culture. We have played with know Artists of Danish and world music stage. I have many cd`s with music we recorded and also had a pleasure to record solo concerts with the orchestra, great musicals, operas, classical music, modern scandinavian music, popular music, danish music and much more. Closing the orchestra like this it is suicide act for Denmark. Culture is our image and make us proud and give a better future for our children.

How much is worth the country without a culture?

Who are the people?

What they represent?

With so many unnecessary things in this world it would a shame and a sad day for every musician to see such a good Orchestra closing, as a musician and also a person who has the habit to go everywhere possible to watch a good concert I honestly hope you will surpass this moment.
Best regards for every single person fighting for this!!

Imme Cold

Politicians must study their task and work towards cultural places. They do not understand that a country without musicians, writers or painters are really a poor place.

We must safeguard all employment in the music profession. If we can't look after our culture ther is no hope for humanity

Many more people will be alerted to their music from this partition and economically it would make more sense to highlight them than erase them.

It is simply incredible how shortsighted and destructive politicians and economy-obsessed decison-makers try to wipe out an outstanding cultural institution like the DNCO. Do they really think they can get their budgets balanced by such an act of barbarism??

Musik ist Lebensmittel-deshalb darf ihre Herstellung nicht behindert werden!

Never forget.

Culture - as well as education - is always an investment into future and society. Not a subvention.
