Its begin to look hideous totally out of keeping
any were let alone the goring gap if it was green maybe
better but also the size and scale. We as long term residents of
the area did not relise or were told what was being undertaken its
awful another reason why HS2 should never happen

The uprights and cross members being finished in galvanised steel are a totally unpleasant intrusion in a landscape of outstanding beauty. At the very least paint the structures [dark green or brown] so they better blend in to the surrounding coutryside.

Network Rail are going against their own environmental study. They spent millions commissioning the study which clearly shows the AONB around Goring and South Stoke to be high adverse impact yet they are doing nothing to mitigate that impact. They are creating a scar across the landscape where alternative designs would be less obtrusive and equally effective.
