Without culture, this world would be sad sad place. To keep culture on a high level we need to give orchestra's the freedom and security to create their own identity and provide the musicians with an ideal environment so they can shine.

I think a country should have a national orchestra. The NBO is very good!

It is extremely easy to destroy an orchestra. But it is extremely difficult to re-establish it, when it turns out that the liquidation was a failure!

I think that Belgium is a wonderful and colorful country with a great cultural old tradition, which should be protected also for keeping the society healthy and productive.

Orchestras are unique in our world, and every orchestra has its own special qualities. Classical music is one of the most extraordinary art forms of our race and the number of exponents should be expanding to improve our existence, not diminshing!

The city of Brussels needs to have a musical culture and it is of course in promoting all musicals institutions ; how to be the center of Europe without a national orchestra. Think of Churchill who said "why to fight if it is not to protect our culture"

Les orchestres sont le poumon d'une ville et il faut deux poumons pour mieux respirer!

Because big orchestras are very important in playing the great symphonic works of our most loved composers. They enrich our lives enormously as well as providing a base of excellence in teaching, musicianship and employment.

Because it is an evidence that the Belgian national Orchestra
should remain. Otherwise a big part of music, classical music, would be eliminated, and that music is the most precious one for
our actual human culture.

Get the money where it really is. Not from culture. This is lazy and cowardly politics: to choose the easy victims to rob. Shame on Belgium.

It would be a shame to lose the value of a national orchestra.

As the son of a Belgian mother, and a graduate of the Juilliard School I grew up listening to this orchestra. Europe must keep its national treasures and this orchestra in my opinion is such a treasure. The amount of money the government will save is so little as to be ludicrous to spend time talking about it. Research shows that the arts generate indirectly far more money for the financial environment then the sports ever will.

One day when all cultural heritage has been cut out of the national budgets all over Europe, then the economy might be good again. And for what reason? Opposite economy and infrastructure cultural heritage is something which cannot be restored once it is gone.
