The names have been been there for ages, this change will just confuse everyone because the only times the names will be used is one maps or by the post office.
People will still call the roads by their current names and there is nothing wrong or offense about them so their is no need to change

If it ain't broke, don't fix it...nothing wrong with current street names in gibraltar. This is just some
waste of space person in Government with nothing better to do.

By changing names of streets or places you will loose the historical reasons, meanings and heritage values.

Gibraltar's historical names should remain. I am sure that this Irish bishop was a good man but in a secular country there should be no religious (in this case Roman Catholic) influences entering the political arena and irrespective it does not warrant changing a street name. Likewise if religious influences have a problem with the word "Devil", their views should not be taken into consideration.

“Wherever God erects a house of prayer, The Devil always builds a chapel there; And 'twill be found, upon examination, The latter has the largest congregation” - Daniel Defoe.

Leave Devil's Tower Road alone - It can't be rebranded an avenue unless a row of trees is planted down each side anyway.

Nobody wants another Bishop-themed street name: Leave Cannon Lane alone. It reflects our military history.

Religion should not be forced down the throats of people who have more sense than to believe in it. If you want to name something after a man of the cloth, name a new church after the Bishop. Not everybody cares for religion, especially just Christianity. What about naming new streets after other religious leaders? Gibraltar is full of Jews, Hindus, Muslims and atheists aswell you know.

Anyway - Caruana is probably jealous because he didn't grow up on Devil's Tower Road. He's not cool enough to rock with Satan \m/

Devils Tower Road and Canon Lane is part of our Heritage, why change it??

The new proposed name sounds like an American character-less grid-based street name - YAWN!

KEEP the old name - it's cool!

Do you not know what you have, you have history and want to replace it with what?
