Let our voices be heard. Freedom of religion must not be taken away from us. I pray this is not any conspiracy going on. Let's all make Duaa that this order is turned back. Allah is the Greatest.

God is great.God is One.Believe in Prophets of God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.Prayers lead to success.Come to pray.Prayer is better than sleep.
This the message of the Azaan. If only we had made this clear.

The constitution says freedom of speech and religion as well. This does not happen all day long, so i dont see a problem at all.

Why make a big deal out of petty little things. I thought we had freedom of religion and speech in our wonderful country. Let us be tolerant of all

We are a rainbow nation and we have respected all other cultural beliefs in our Country.....I dont see how the call of prayer is a disturbance....in comparison to night clubs and shibeens running from residential areas....

It is shocking to see that in this day and age that we have people or person that is still against Islam and that way we practise--

Freedom of religion is not a negotiable clause in south africa. It is a constituitional right. A right which makes me proudly south african. I strongly suggest that those who cannot respect other religions or the countries constituitional rights , relocate to a community where they will at least tolerate their similar corrupt thoughts.

Muslims only good enuff to contribute towards needs of non-muslims, yeah! To vote for a democracy for all, but Now The Call to Prayers after 45years in Riverlea is a problem for City of Johannesburg. Does these idiots even know what they wanna protest next? Dress code of muslims, etc?
This is the best they can do out of sheer boredom! Shame this poor country....Get a life and do what you are paid to do.............ur job!

I've grown up with that arthan and it doesn't hamper anyone's ability to function so there is no need in banding the sound it's just been part of the community for years it is part of our way of life.

My Father grew up in Riverlea and so did I and it never been an issue so why all of a sudden does it cause problem for residents who two grew up with that sound and again doesn't hamper your ability to function it a call to prayers or is the sound a reminder that they haven't set foot in the house of God in awhile and the mosque call to prayer is just a painful reminder that they not living life right. Don't bring down a community who have a religious belief system that is ingrained into who we are! The arthaan is part of our Religion.

South Africa is suppose to be a democratic country and a bit more liberal in than thinking than countries under autocratic rulings. Being democratic means the right to practice once religious believes freely. If they deny south africans of their religious rights they might as well bring back apartheid because then there is no difference
