How can we petition the state for the Tavern to become a historical landmark?

I don't live in Louisiana anymore, but to destroy something that is always in my memory and those of my children. If I were to visit New Orleans and not be able to go to St Rose Tavern again, I just might not come!!

I had lived in St Rose for 30 years and enjoyed the good food at St Rose Tavern over those years, and have gone back several times since moving. This is a historic place and should not be shut down.

Why take down a point of historic interest on River Rd. What will go there in its place? a fast food restaurant or a subdivision? Keep St Rose Tavern open.

WARNING.... we will ban any establishment that he tries replace St Rose Tavern with. How can he think that all of her loyal customers for years and years will set foot in his place. He is not only taking away their jobs and livelihood but their homes too. We can only pray that this man has a change of heart if he has one! We love you Patsy and the girls hang in there!!

If you don't have anything nice to say then you shouldn't post on here. That was really rude. What if someone said that to your Mother or one of your loved ones??!! Grow up and God bless you!

We have been enjoying the food, atmosphere and company at St. Rose Tavern for over thirty years. It is an integral part of our community and shared memories of so many local families! We love it just the way it is!

Saint Rose Tavern is one of a kind. It could never be the same in another location, The Roast Beef will always be awesome but the Tavern has its history and needs to remain there for many more generations to experience.

It's for a great reason and purpose and I hope it comes to pass. The St. Rose Tavern is not just any other place, it has been a staple in the community of lie long residents. It's a piece of history, It is a home or the Elfer's and when we walk through the doors we are at home as well.

One of the last places in Louisiana that gives you that connection to the past. It's like a living museum to the 50's. I and my wife love it as does our riding club. We don't want to see them go and willing todo what ever it takes to keep it open.

This place is a 2nd home to so many people, and it has been the only home of the Elfer family for nearly 100 years!

This is not just a landmark for the community; to some of us this is home. I have grown up going to this place for as long as I can remember.

It's a cold and dark day just to think that someone would want to close the doors on a priceless piece of Louisiana history , as well as a family's way of life..they have dedicated so much of their life into their tavern...and to think someone would want to put a stop to it....since-less!!!

A wonderful place for families to eat and visit without someone rushing them out. A place to have a drink at your leisure. Save our local history.
