I signed this petition because I want the truth to be
recognized; that the 'Great Hunger' was caused by
greed, bigotry, and British Imperial Ideology!

,My granny's were starved............. How can there be a famine on an island or a country teaming with game? Western Europe had a potato blight while Ireland starved

tales my mother-in-law told me of her great grandparents travails,of walking on foot from Monaghan to Belfast at the time of the genocide, coming across starving families laying by the lanes and roads murdered by the British government by their acts and laws of oppression.

Because truth must always out, preferably sooner but time passing should not be a reason to ignore the truth no matter how inconvenient it may be for some

The 2 best books on the subject are, the Great Hunger by Cecil Woodham Smith and The Famine Plot by Tim Pat Coogan. Both books have been critised by the so called mainstream academia

Because people were allowed to starve while the british exported food from Ireland, yes there was a potato crop failure but there was more than enough food in the country to feed the people in Ireland. In my view it was an opportunity to inflict deliberate genocide.

If it's true it must be fully disclosed. It takes investigation to unearth truth!

That is the reason why we are in Australia. I know of the stories of what the British did. And I am sick of them trying to hide their past. It's very frustrating to any Irish man or woman that they won't admit what they did.
