Illiteracy Is Way too Common

Description/History:
Illiteracy is the inability to read or write. This have been caused by the numerous ineffective education systems put in place. More than 32 million adults in the US can’t read, that’s 14% of the population and 21% of adults can’t read past a 5th grade reading level. How do you expect to get a job if you struggle with reading? The possible employees that are in the highest demand have at least a two-year college degree. Imagine all the people in the US that can’t even read but are allowed to vote for the leader of our country. It’s time for a change, we need to stop this while the children are young, there is still hope. It’s time to put programs into place. Help us to get schools to have specialized programs in place in every school. Not every child is the same so why should they have to learn the same.
Petition:
We the undersigned urge the public schools of New York state to change its specialized class regulations and change the qualifications of the teachers we have in place. Illiteracy is way too common, help us in our fight to lower illiteracy.
