** Say NO to the Kansas Street Highrise Condos **

Dear neighbors,

The end of Kansas Street currently has 5 lots of undeveloped land. The new owner has proposed development plans for 5 new buildings: Two 2-family, 6 story, 66’ tall buildings; Two 2-family, 5 story, 55’ tall buildings, and one 1-family, 4 story, 44’ tall building.

Historically, houses in this block have matched the height and scale of existing houses, and four of the five proposed buildings ignore this completely. Homes on this block are one, two, or three story buildings over a garage, and a maximum of 40’ in height. There are no existing properties on this block which are 5 - or even 4 - stories over a garage.

We believe that the height and scale of the project is out of line with the neighborhood and the street in particular. We are asking the SF Planning Commission to remove the 5th and 6th floors of these buildings, and to limit the height of the building to 40’.

We are organizing neighbors to ensure we have solidarity, and we hope to take everyone’s concerns into account. Your written record of support is also critical: Please sign the statement below and return it to 882 or 889 Kansas Street as soon as possible.
