Oppose the redevelopment of The Pheasant pub site by Inland Homes

Petition Background :

Inland Homes, of 2 Anglo Office Park, 67 White Lion Road, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 9FB, have acquired the site of The Pheasant Public House, Plantation Road, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP6 6HL, which closed on 1st January 2013, for the purpose of its redevelopment into a number of residential properties. Plans have been submitted to Chiltern District Council by Inland Homes which propose the removal of any Public House facility from the site.

Following the closure and demolition of the former Red Lion Public House, Chestnut Lane, Amersham, The Pheasant remained as the only dedicated public house in Amersham on the Hill. It served as an important meeting and socialising venue for a wide range of members of the local community. Its closure has fractured the local community, badly affected the community spirit within Amersham on the Hill, and has noticeably altered the atmosphere of a previously more vibrant town by leaving a large number of local residents disgruntled.

Petition :

We, the undersigned, call on Chiltern District Council to turn down Inland Homes request for planning permission and to insist that the site is returned to its former use as a Public House.
