People Against Ebola In Africa

The ebola virus is one of the most dangerous virus in the world. But up until recently, it was rare. This disease is known to cause bleeding inside and outside of the body. As it travels throughout the body it causes damage to the immune system and internal organs. It also causes blood clotting and cells to drop, which leads to severe and uncontrollable bleeding. This virus kills up to 90% of the people who are affected. There is no known cure.

Recently, there has been an ebola epidemic wide spread throughout West Africa infecting Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria  and Sierra Leone. At least 1700 people have been affected, 961 people have died. It is said that lives are being lost because response to the disease is too slow.

As stated earlier, there is no known cure for this virus. But in recent news, two victims of the ebola virus were flew in from Africa to Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. They received a speedy response to the infection and were made a priority over the lives of hundreds of infected in Africa, potentially putting millions of American lives in danger by aiding the ebola virus to travel over international waters. This fact did not deter the decision to bring these two people home to America to receive experimental treatment, which is said to be improving their health.

This petition is to ask our congress if there is any kind of way to save hundreds of men, women and children in West Africa using  experimental or traditonal methods?  Could we do so as diligently as if the people dying overseas were just as important as our people here in the homeland.
