Subject: A PETITION TO SUPPORT YOUR CALL.

Your Excellency Mr President;

On behalf of the People Signatories of the present Petition( mostly from the Rwandan Community of Cape Town, South Africa), I am pleased to express to you, your Excellency, our deep enthusiasms about the encouraging stand you have taken and announced to the world, in Addis Ababa during the Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the African Union(A.U )on the 26th of May2013, concerning “ A NECESSARY DIALOGUE” which must be engaged between the RWANDAN GOVERNMENT and the Rwandan armed group, known as: LA FORCE DEMOCRATIQUE DE LIBERATION DU RWANDA (F D L R).

From all corners of Africa:( Cape Town (on the bottom) to Cairo-Casablanca (on Top): Dar- Es- Salaam( in east) to Dakar(in West)- including KIGALI itself (in the central);as well as the whole world in general and the Rwandan people in particular, without exception, are firmly supporting your call.

Meanwhile, it comes without any surprise for us to hear the Leader of Tanzania taking the first step to propose a viable solution to the current Rwandan problems. This is due to unwavering, on-going, and much needed contribution, in the framework of common destiny, to the promotion of human rights, sustainable peace and security as well as the transformation of social stability, and of economic growth in the Great Lakes Region in general, and in Rwanda in particular.

Due to your country contribution, I acknowledge the following achievements:

- The ousting of the Dictator IDI AMIN DADA of Uganda in 1986, so as to restore durable peace in Uganda.

-The Negotiation of the Arusha Peace agreement, signed on August 4th 1993 between the former President Juvenal Habyalimana regime and the Rwandan Patriotic Front(RPF), then Rebels.

-The Arusha Peace and Reconciliation Agreement for Burundi concluded on August 28th 2000 between its Government and its opposition forces.

- The host of the International Criminal Tribunal on Rwanda (that its activities still under way).

-The People of Tanzania’s warm welcome to the Great lakes region refugees and their involvement in finding durable solutions to their refugee situations.

For these great achievements and many more, I would like to urge the international community to FIRMLY SUPPORT this incomparable and unique effort of His Excellency President KIKWETE, to bring to the Table of Negotiation all Rwandan military and political groups for a durable peace and security not only in Rwanda itself, but also in the sub-region.

I thank you once again your Excellency Mr President for your resolute contribution to the Rwandan people of which your country and its people have never ceased to provide.

Yours Respectfully;
