Save Maria Clapp and the Otter Valley PCSOs!

Dear Devon and Cornwall Police Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner

We, the residents of the Otter Valley, including Ottery St Mary town, object in the strongest terms to any proposals to remove Maria Clapp and her PCSO colleagues across the Otter Valley from their jobs, as a result of Devon and Cornwall Police's plans to more than halve the number of police community support officers in smaller towns and villages.

PCSOs are extremely important to residents of Ottery St Mary and in nearby villages and now provide the only visible police presence, sorting out a wide range of problems expertly and discreetly.

We urge you to reconsider your plans and provide assurances that Maria Clapp and her colleagues will be retained.
