Student-Run Visual Art Show NEEDS THE GALLERY!

The SOTA Visual Arts Seniors want to host a completely student-run Free Art Show on the week of May 19-23 where we can display our artistic talent outside of the traditional Visual Arts expectations. This would function similar to the student-organized “Brown Bag” performances that other departments host, and will serve as a sort of parting gift from graduating Visual Arts Seniors to the rest of our school.

While many SOTA folks support this idea, including Principal Köhn, the Visual Art Gallery Spaces are under the domain of the Department Head. Judging by both past events and recent reactions to the mere suggestion of such a show, she will likely refuse to let us put up our artwork. We have enough art pieces, resources, and willpower to make this happen, but we need access to the third-floor Visual Art Galleries.

Please SIGN THIS PETITION to get the permission to use the gallery spaces (Pannone Gallery and adjacent hallway) for the Visual Arts student-run art show! We want to confirm that there are indeed students, parents, and teachers who value creative expression at SOTA and who would be willing to support us Visual Arts Seniors in expressing our own personalized artistic visions before graduation at the Pannone Gallery and adjacent hallway.

We need at least 200 signatures by Wednesday, May 14th. Maybe more!!!

Please share with your families, friends and the artist world!

THANK YOU for all your support.
