He added passion and great insight to the commentary. If he is not re-instated there are big boots to fill.

I never listened to the football until Alan started presenting. He's such an entertainer, and helped me get into LCFC. I promise I will NOT be listening to Radio Leicester unless Alan Young is reinstated.

I also feel that since the BBC is funded by the public, it should listen to the voices of the public. It's OUR radio station, and the people have spoken!

I only ever tune my radio into BBC Radio Leicester when LCFC are playing. If Youngy isn't brought back then I'll never listen to RL again. The rest of the programmes are boring.

Why change something that works and which the listeners want to continue? To ignore the public's opinion is risky - think of your ratings - there is an 'off switch'!

Whatever BBC Leicester corporately believe should reflect Leicester City's return to the Premier League, they are wrong. The creation of what is known as the Blue Army started during Alan's time as a player under Jock Wallace, and that spirit is back under the current regime. Alan is a vital link to that history, an adopted Leicester person and a perfect co-commentator. Local radio has a responsibility to reflect the hopes and fears of the community it serves, as well as informing them. Alan Young does all of this. Leicester City FC will never be as big as Manchester United, and, most fans wouldn't want it to be. It is pretentious, at worst and misguided at best for the poltics of BBC Leicester to believe that the club will be and alter their broadcasting aims to suit. We are a city in the East Midlands with a fantastic sporting history, and an inbuilt stoicism. BBC Leicester needs to reflect that, not pretend to be an offshoot of 5Live

I have really enjoyed Alan Young's commentary and his rapport with Ian Stringer. I am shocked and saddened at the BBC's decision and I demand that they reverse it.

As a license payer I must express my disgust over the decision and the way Mr Young has been treated. I will not be listening to BBC RL until this awful decision has been reversed.

Terrible how he has been sacked , if anyone deserved to be sacked from Radio Leicester it had to be that complete bore of a man John Sinclair , the guy has no passion for the game or Leicester itself . When he had to replace stringer for a couple of games he was dreadful and shown no positive energy . BRING BACK ALAN!

Bring back Youngy,We want honest informative and loyal radio, not the ideals of the dictatorial female who has no feel for what her public want.Is this the same insecure power crazy blunderwoman that sacked Bill Maynard a few years back? If so I think that it is her who should become another BBC statistic
