My road is really dark and unsafe when the lights go of and its near a park where there has been people attacked. If we can have the Christmas lights on in town we should have our street lights on for safety .

It's dangerous enough down streets not being able to see where you're going but now add the attacks that are happening around town, something needs to be done quickly. A good start would be to get the lights on now so people felt a little safer. Then catch the horrible people doing this for a few quid.

I finish work late at night. I have to drive to and from work as the lighting is too poor to walk, plus there is the risk I may be attacked. I then have to use a torch on my phone to guide me to my front door and be able to see the lock to get in. Please tell me what I pay my extortionate council tax for?

The combination of no street lighting and the awful pothole ridden roads make cycling extremely dangerous. The amount of violent crimes committed since the street lights have been turned off in the early hours speak volumes. I don't feel safe walking the streets any more and only do so because of the hours I work.

The back road behind my house is now a danger zone. There have also been 3 known burglaries since they went out

There is only one light on the street I live on, so when it goes off it is completely dark

Would it be possible to have movement detectors on street lighting?

It is unsafe for people who do unsocial hours and have to walk home in the dark

The whole part-light scheme is ludicrous. They state they consulted, no they didn't. I knew nothing about it until it started. They say the lights go off after midnight but this might vary by 30 mins each way. Well, ALL of the part-time lights around us go off at 11:30pm so their timer system is clearly useless. Worse, when we changed from BST to GMT, for well over a weeks we had ALL the part-time lights go out at 10:30pm. Completely ridiculous!

I think it is disgusting that people have to walk home in the dark sorry some places pitch-black it encourages crime and violence as we have seen in the last few weeks switch the lights back on

This is disgusting. The council surely could find other ways of cutting costs within the town. Putting people's safety at a higher risk is ridiculous. Nothing will be done until it affects a council members family ........ Unfortunately. Hope the council see sense and sort before anything else happens to the town.

NORTHALLERTON HAS BECOME A VERY SCARY TOWN AFTER 10.00PM

Crime has risen in this town since the street lights were turned off, plus I feel extremely vulnerable if I'm out either socialising or working past midnight.
It's not even every other light out, there are lots of areas that are pitch black!!!!!!
It's ridiculous - leave the lights on!!

The two lights in Almond Grove which are in the centre of the street are switched off thereby making the street in total darkness through the night. This street is comprised of detached houses and bungalows which have large gardens and very prone to crime. I do not feel safe at night as I am a very elderly lady caring for my elderly husband.
