Keep something cultural alive they of much more value to humanity than white elephants not too mention displacing homes and core run family business in the private creative sector gives substance to any economy just take Italy for example, we say no to corporate greed and selfishness!

This is home to many horses and workers. You cannot replace an existing sporting venue with another sport.

It's tragic to think that government would simply evict an entire business. What happened to their job creation promises? Looks to me like not only are they causing children and adults to loose a valuable resource and place where they can enkoy a healthy lifestyle, but they are forcing people to not have jobs in a country already struggling to make jobs available.

The horses at the stables have been there for so many years and it would be a very sad loss to the community if they were moved and their home destroyed this is history we are talking about

To many sports clubs and facilities are closing and running to ruin - this is a most significant facility and we must all try to save it for the future!

Newmarket stables is part of Durban's history.why should it be turned into a soccer academy??????????? !!!!!!!!!!!
There are plenty of other sites in and around Durban that can be used.
The Stables flea market which people rent 'stalls' to make a living from, where are these people suppose to go to?????? Some have been there for years...
What about the stables itself... What about the horses and ponies stabled there where do they go and the children and adults who make use if this facility. Newmarket. Stables is central to the surrounding suburbs easy access for the equestrian community . Not everyone can drive up to Shongweni or past Balito areas to ride and stable their horse/pony. Besides Shongweni what other venue is available for the equestrian community to use for shows etc....

I care for animals and horses have a very special place in my heart. And of course we all need to make a living,so my heart goes out to the grooms and staff and the stall holders.

Newmarket Stables has been a trademark in our City for so many years. It is a local venue for families to go an enjoy all sorts of entertainment such as the Stables Market, and then also Offers the sport of horse riding to many City Children who would not get this opportunity if the Newmarket Stables was closed. Who wants to see, and hear of more unemployed people, as well as families out on the streets because of the job losses closing these stables would cause. Instead it would make more sense in building up these stables and encouraging more children from disadvantage backgrounds of all race groups, to come and learn horse riding and possibly build up this sport from here. We have had so many soccer areas built all over, and now another one to replace the sport of horse riding ??? Bad choice

there is enough space opposite Moses Mabida stadium for a football academy. Newmarket is a landmark and must be retained for horses etc

Its sad that horses arnt seen as important, and they are actually so much more theraphetic than other animals. In our town we use horses to help disabilities. Mental and physical. Soccer won't do that. Keep the stables. Be calm and ride a horse!

Had my first riding lesson at Newmarket on Prince! Went to the market. I can't bear the thought of another Durbans institutions shutting down. Where can children go to interact
With animals now. The animal farm and now the stables. It will he disgraceful if it's demolished. Not to mention the loss of jobs.
