PGC Dog Park

Residents of southern Prince George's County Maryland are requesting an off-leash, fenced dog park in our region; currently one does not exist.

Although many households in our region contain dogs, much of the housing does not provide an outdoor, communal space.  As stated by reputable organizations such as the American Kennel Club, it is imperative that dogs have such an arena.  This ensures not only exercise, but also socialization with other dogs and exposure to diverse experiences.  Both reduce the risk of dogs developing aggressive temperaments.

At the present time, when residents of southern Prince George's County Maryland want to provide our dogs with time off leash, we have to commute outside our community.  Not only is this inconvenient - most residents also do this for work - but oftentimes we are also imposing on resources allocated and funded by other communities such as those in Northern Virginia.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss possible locations for a dog park or fence in dog area.
