We strongly object to these plans - as per comments above, there is enough traffic and associated pollution, added to already by no less than 4 new developments on Ruxley Lane alone in the last few months!! We live on Ruxley Lane - we didn't want the new Tesco or the new Co-Op, or indeed the new Aldi which is soon to open just at the end of Ruxley on the bypass. Local residents deserve more than a few grocery facilities and a whole load of new neighbours!! What will this mean for our children, whom we already struggle to find school places for? If they want to sell some of the land in order to raise funds to improve the sports facilities for E&E High School students then fine - but not for a housing development of 100 dwellings! It is outrageous. How about some leisure facilities for local people; local people who can WALK or CYCLE to said facilities - hence not just bringing more traffic, pollution and danger to children. There are many possibilities that could be investigated - a swimming pool/ gym complex, soft play, public house/ restaurant, social club, library, bowling alley/ tennis courts, a 'city farm', splash park/ giant sandpit for children. And no doubt many things we haven't thought of. If the ethos of the High School is to support it's students - who are after all residents of this borough and will likely be FUTURE residents of this borough, then do what is right by us all and don't sell this land off for housing.
