My grandmother told me of this more than 50 years ago and cried. We are "Scot's Irish" and came to the US before the famine but she had family there. What of all those who died of complications getting here? I understand Canada has a monument for all those who died on the ships or soon after. What about them? And those forced to fight in the Civil War?
