No Victory Mosque Near Ground Zero
Say "NO" to the building of the proposed mosque near Ground Zero.
I love my country and the American people. In a hope to do my part in protecting the American way of life, I ask you join this small endeavor and sign this simple petition.
Many points can be made against this proposal, not of which is anti-muslim.
1. The majority of Americans and victims' families of 9/11 are against it.
2. If you look at history, Cordoba, the name of this proposed mosque/cultural center, is the name of where muslims conquered and destroyed a church in Spain hundreds of years ago. There are many instances of mosques being built where muslims overcome others. These include the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the destruction of ancient Buddhas in India and others.
3. If the proposed mosque was to be built as a way to bring people together, why was the New York Governor turned down when he offered free land for the building that was in a different location? Why was Donald Trump's offer to pay 25% above the market rate for an interest in the building denied? Why, with all of the outcry, would the imam say, in an CNN interview, in response to American anger:
"But if we don't do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world. If we don't do things correctly, this crisis could become much bigger than the Danish cartoon crisis [over images depicting the Prophet Mohammed], which resulted in attacks on Danish embassies in various parts of the Muslim world. And we have a much bigger footprint in the Muslim world."
