#203

Nothing or no one was damaged. It's an innocent mistake to make. Not a valid excuse to sack the guy

(Plymouth, 2016-12-02)

#204

It's a disgrace that this has happened to a guy with an exemplary record.

(Ottawa, 2016-12-02)

#209

Sacking Jim is such a heavy handed response for an oversight, that caused no damage or injury, Admonishment would be quite enough.

(Wiveliscombe, Taunton , 2016-12-02)

#210

We have found Jim To be a friendly and efficient postman who is a credit to the postal service.
We consider his dismal to be totally disgusting

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#213

Jim is a credit to his profession and in my experience will always go that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I was shocked and saddened to here of his sacking under these circumstances. A loyal worker of 30+ years casually cast aside. What's the world coming too?

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#214

Jim is an outstanding postman, we can all make a mistake. Dismissing him is crazy beaurocrcy and a big loss to wivey and Royal Mail.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#218

Royal Mail's action appears disproportionate, and mismatched with principles of natural justice

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#225

This is unjust and unfair and sounds like a cost-cutting exercise, callously dismissing all his years of loyal service

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#226

Jim is a bloody great bloke, it's a crying shame that this should happen to such a man.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#227

Someone who has given great service to our community should not be penalised for a trifling human error.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#228

Jim is the most friendly and helpfull postman one could ever wish for and in my opinion he should be given a second chance and reinstated immediately.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#229

Jim is the best ambassador Royal Mail could ever have had: efficient, reliable, honest, friendly, trustworthy and courteous. Please respect our views and find a way to reinstate Jim; he does not deserve this harsh sanction

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#230

He is such a good postman, friendly, kind, helpful and a valuable part of our community, everyone loves him. No harm was done here so what's the problem. I'm flabbergasted. He is one of life's good guys. Ridiculous and pathetic decision to lose such a good, loyal worker.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#237

I am utterly bewildered to hear this - my heart goes out to dear Jim and his family. Shame on you Royal Mail - you have made an unforgivable decision. We love you Jim and we are all behind you x

(wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#238

Jim Is an honest hard working man, he has always done his job in a kind considerate but efficient way often going the extra mile to make sure people get there post, common sense requires him to be reinstated.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#239

This is a totally disproportionate and unreasonable response by the Post Office, which should listen to the views of the community he serves, and values his superb service, and rescind this unfortunate decision.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#240

This is not just. The punishment far out-weighs the crime.

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#243

Jimmy went out of his way to welcome us into the community and epitimises the gentleman he is.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-02)

#246

Royal Mail management you should be ashamed of yourselves. Total over reaction to an innocent mistake. Suggest you take a long hard look at yourselves and reinstate Jim, apologise and go on an intensive managing people course.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#247

Jim is an amazing postman. A real credit to Royal Mail

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-02)

#257

He's the best postman we've ever had

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-02)

#262

Jim is a great chap- should all mulity drop vans be fitted with a electric controlled handbrake??

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#263

Jim is one of the most honest peeps iv ever meet, a great postman, great husband and farther

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#265

Lovely kind man, we all make mistakes!

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#270

We want Jim to get his job back as a postman and he is a really nice guy if you get to know him

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#273

Jim is a local community figure, always friendly and efficient and going out of his way to help. Everyone makes mistakes when they are under pressure, dismissal is excessive as no one was injured. He will be a huge loss locally, please reconsider and show some humanity.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#274

Unfair dismissal.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#275

People make mistakes and fortunately nothing happened but I'm sure he won't forget to do it next time plus it's Christmas Royal Mail you miserable bastards

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#276

Everyone deserves a second chance.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#277

Because it's disgusting and he's a really nice man

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#278

Jim is a fantastic postman and a windeeful person. He are his family are valued through out our community. I hope that he can be reinstated and that RoyalMail hear and respect the feelings of our community.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-02)

#284

I have put the handbrake on on a vehicle, because i tend to pull it on very hard it went beyond the 'teeth' on the lever, sprung out and released. Has royal mail looked at service history, reports of defects etc, if they have not why not. Handbrakes should be fully engaged at 6 'clicks' from memory any more and they are not engaging properly.

(Nerja, 2016-12-02)

#286

Simply the best postie ever.
This guy deserves better.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#288

Not a very fair reason ,sounds like he's a good guy

(Tsunton, 2016-12-02)

#290

Jim has been our postie for many many years, always helpful, friendly and keeps a community eye out for everyone's health & wellbeing. I am shocked and upset that he has been sacked by Royal Mail for an incident that did not end in any damage or injury, could and did are very different outcomes and the fact that nothing or no one was damaged or injured does not warrant a sacking. Our family hopes that Royal Mail will reconsider their decision to sack Jim and reinstate him. He has a family to support and he has given many loyal years to Royal Mail and the people of our communities!

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#292

l am signing because I think it is disgusting couldn't wish for a lovely person

(Somerset , 2016-12-03)

#293

From the facts as I know this action is unbelievable !.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#294

Jim is a busy, efficient and friendly guy who relates well to the people of Wivvy and who promotes the efficiency of the Post Office.
Please reinstate this great guy.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#295

He is a good and honest hard working man

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#297

Before his transfer to Wiveliscombe so that he could be nearer his ill wife Jim was our postie to an isolated house. Nothing was ever too much for him. He was reliable consistent a good friend and would always do what he could to make sure we got our delivery. He was the archetypal great postman friend n pillar of the community. Reinstate immediately with huge apology for recognising a big mistake has been made.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#298

This man is the most reliable person I know. He used to be a postman in Milverton and checked in n my parents every shift,so no only does he deliver our post with a friendly smile he's probably saved lives just by being there.
No way should he be sacked.

(Wiviscombe, 2016-12-02)

#300

Jim is the best postman I ever remember having. If more people were like him, the world would be a better place. A more friendly, kind, thoughful and likeable person would be hard to find.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#304

How can this lovely man be sacked. You couldn't asked for a better postie we want him back. Royal Mail you have made a big mistake. Reinstate Jim!

(wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#305

Seems unreasonable. Surely a warning made more sense. It's hard to get good post people. Really appreciate the one we have.

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#308

Jim one of the best postmen we have had.

(Wiv3liscombr, 2016-12-03)

#309

This is so unfair, they seem to use any excuse now to get rid of long term postman

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#311

He is a great postie and a wonderful man. Royal Mail have been heavy handed in their punishment. Who made this decision? Do they participate in the real world?

(Langford Budville, 2016-12-03)

#312

Jim has been unfairly dismissed. He is the most loyal and dedicated post person we have, knows everyone by name and always goes that extra mile, even when up against time restrictions.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-02)

#313

Lesson learnt

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#317

Jim is a victim of health and safety gone beserk.there is a union meeting on Monday where we will all be showing our support for him.we are all outraged at Taunton sorting office at the way he has been treated and we will be letting them know how we feel.shame on Royal Mail.

(Taunton , 2016-12-03)

#318

Jim was our postman in milverton when I was a little girl. He wad always so bubbly and happy. My sister and I used to watch and wait on our door step for him to pull up our drive. Such a lovley man I will always remember him.(I have no idea what my postman even looks like now).

(Fitzh3ad, 2016-12-03)

#321

Was it really necessary to do this to Jim? This is something that will affect him for the rest of his life.

(MORPETH, 2016-12-03)

#322

everyone is entitled to make one mistake. Easier to teach Jim to apply the handbrake than to teach someone new to be so friendly.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#323

He is unreservedly the best, most efficient and friendly postman that I have ever known.

(Taunton, 2016-12-02)

#325

This is totally unfair way to treat a loyal hard working postman shame on Royal Mail

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#327

Obviously I'm not local to Wivvy but some of my family live there and they think Jim is wonderful. Also I rely on him to deliver post to my family.

(cambridge, 2016-12-03)

#328

Jim is a first class postman always smiling and helpful

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#329

The way Royal Mail has handled this situation is reactionary and procedurally incorrect

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#333

I strongly believe it is unfair dismissal and Jim should be reinstated as he is a very friendly and helpful postman.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#334

This man didn't mean to do this....accidents happen

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#336

Jim always goes above and beyond his duty, Royal Mail have made a big mistake, do the right thing!! We want him back.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#339

Jim is a valued member of the community and did not deserve to be fired!

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-03)

#340

He's being badly treated

(Taunton, 2016-12-03)

#345

We can all make mistakes, it could be any number of us. Jim is the most friendliest postman i have ever known, who goes out of his way to help above and beyond the call of duty without recognition or reward. To be sacked for a silly mistake like this is dispicable and without doubt grossly "UNFAIR"

(Milverton , 2016-12-03)

#346

These poor postmen are pushed to their limits trying to get items delivered and collected in their time slot, luckily no one was hurt and I'm sure this has really shocked him....we all have forgetful moments when stressed, give the man a break.

(Glasgow, 2016-12-03)

#347

He should never of been sacked

(Wellington, 2016-12-03)

#348

Jim was our postman in Milverton prior to returning to the Wiveliscombe office. Hard working, utterly reliable and trustworthy, friendly and helpful, Jim epitomises what a community postman can be at their best. It seems to be a ridiculous over reaction to sack a loyal time served employee for something which might have resulted in an accident but didn't. I urge the Royal Mail to reconsider this terrible decision.

(Milverton, 2016-12-03)

#349

Jim has been delivering our mail to us for over 20 years, he is so kind and always goes the extra when delivering to our shop. A credit to Royal Mail not a disgrace. Reinstate

(Skilgate, 2016-12-02)

#350

People make mistakes sometimes big and sometimes small. Royal Mail you just surpassed them all!

(Waterrow, 2016-12-03)

#351

Jim is far more than just our postman he is a pillar of our community who daily goes above and beyond what his job entails...Honest, loyal and a good all round person...This news is devastating to hear to us let alone what Jim and his dear family must be going through right now. Bring back Jim!!!!

(Milverton, 2016-12-02)

#353

This is shocking. I am sure Jim has learnt from this horrible incident. Sacking him won't achieve anything.

(Bristol , 2016-12-03)

#356

Jim is the kindest most thoughtful postman you could wish for. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time ... how about a bit of compassion and forgiveness. Jim is a human being not a robot ... no one or anything was harmed so why the punishment? I hope Jim does get his job back because he doesn't deserve to lose his job over one error.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#357

You made the wrong decision

(Stamford , 2016-12-03)

#358

I care

(Tiverton, 2016-12-04)

#359

It seems completely unfair and unjust to fire a man and take away his livelihood on a supposition . It's a hypothesis that he 'may' of harmed someone, and not actually what happened. Disgraceful, give him his job back, plus a public apology and compensation.

(London, 2016-12-03)

#360

This incidence will be a learning experience . . . will Mr. Denslow learn to be much more careful, or will the world learn how unforgiving and unreasonable Royal Mail is?

(Toledo, 2016-12-04)

#361

Jim is a fantastic postman who goes the extra mile

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#362

Jim, is a friendly, caring, loyal member of the royal mail and of our community.
He has been there for 27 yrs! What a disgraceful way to treat an honest family man, I for one am glad of people like Jim, working in our community and I feel safe in the knowledge that he's going around looking out for everyone.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-04)

#367

I feel it is very unfair and Mr Denslow is a super Postman and always has kind words for everyone he meets.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-04)

#371

Massive overreaction from the Post Office, let's hope they reconsider their decision and reinstate Jim as soon as possible.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-04)

#372

Jim is a decent, hardworking family man who doesn't deserve such a harsh penalty.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-04)

#373

I'm signing because Jim has been the most caring and thoughtful postie you could wish to have. If this situation is not rectified it will be an absolute disgrace and will nullify all he has meant to the town.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#374

If people can be sacked for what "could" have happened we're all in deep doo-doos. Game of consequences anyone? Not the way for a HR department to behave.

(Wivelisccombe, 2016-12-04)

#375

Jim is the most fantastic postman. We can all make mistakes. Nothing happened on this occasion, you can bet anything he won't do anything like this again. Please re instate jim

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-04)

#378

I am absolutely disgusted to learn about Jim's dismissal over such a minor incident. Royal Mail Please reconsiders and reinstates our lovely postman Jim back to Wiveliscombe where he belongs.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#379

Jim is a pleasant and lovely postman

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-03)

#380

DEVASTATED to hear what Royal Mail has done to Jim our perfect, cheerful postie. Come on Royal Mail have a heart bring back Jim to our Wiveliscombe Community.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#382

I'm signing because Jim is a great postman and should be reinstated.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#384

You need to reinstate jim denslow you couldn't wish for a better postman. .

(Taunton , 2016-12-02)

#385

Having worked with Jimmy a number of years I'm disgusted that RM are acting this way

(Langport, 2016-12-04)

#387

Could have is not a reason for instant dismissal.

(Tiverton, 2016-12-04)

#390

I'm signing this because Jim is very good at his job, makes time for people and I do not believe he should be sacked because of one mistake. Plus, Jim has a family which he supports while doing his job, which can be very stressful at times. Also, it would be very sad to lose Jim because he's a well known person around Wiveliscombe and the surrounding areas. And if not reinstated I'll never use Royal Mail again.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#392

I talk to many people around the area who have had Jim on their round and they all speak so highly of him. Good bloke, good postman. Go on Royal Mail do the First Class thing and bring Jim back to Wivey.

(Wiveliscombe, 2016-12-04)

#394

We love Jim and want himback.

(wivey, 2016-12-04)

#397

I cannot believe Jim has been treated so badly, he was an
excellent Postie when on our round, always friendly, extremely efficient, thoughtful and professional.

(Milverton, 2016-12-02)

#400

Jim is lovely and a great postman.

(Wiveliscombe , 2016-12-05)
