TO KEEP THE WARRIOR MASCOT AND LOGO IMAGERY AT DANIEL WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL.

The 2020-2021 Title VI Indian Education Parent Committee has asked the Tulsa Public Schools Board in a statement to change the Native American mascot and logo imagery at Daniel Webster High School.

THE SIGNATORIES OF THIS PETITION STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THE TITLE VI INDIAN EDUCATION PARENT COMMITTEE AND PETITION TULSA PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO KEEP THE WARRIOR MASCOT AND LOGO IMAGERY AT DANIEL WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL.

The Title VI Indian Education Program exists between the relationship of the Tribal nations with the U.S. federal government.  The Parent Committee is just that - a committee of a small number of parents that provide input into the program.  Essentially, the program exists to provide grant funds for Native American students in the district.

The Tulsa Daniel Webster High School Alumni Foundation exists to promote and supplant DWHS in the community.  Daniel Webster has served the Tulsa community proudly for over 80 years.  An engaged, supportive alumni network is crucial to a school’s success. If communication stops once graduates leave school, their understanding of the school will become stale. Instead, they should be kept informed so they can remain engaged and keep abreast of the progress and successes of the school.
