Cable theft is a hazard to all and very costly to all the law abiding citizens of the country. This is therefore imperative for the policy makers to act decisively to put a stop to this act.

Without electricity is like switching off life support machine. There is no good quality life.My message to you responsible for stealing electricty cables may you please stop your action right now because you don't benefit much as your boss do,you are as poor as a church mouse and can end up being burnt like a biltong. This is first and last warning.

We live in Monavoni Ah, we are usually affected by cable theft although our area usually does not get mentioned. We did find out that Brakfontein substation supplies our electricity. During the last 4day outage we have lost our whole months supply of frozen food as we do not have any other person to store our frozen food. And the account holders we rent from lives in Zambia so getting paperwork done to replace the lost groceries has failed as the communication time it took getting hold of the owner has been troublesome. We cannot afford to loose another month supply as yet we thought it would be fine to do yet another months grocery shopping supply on Monday. I guess we would have to see what happens.

Cable Theft is a contributing factor to the disintegration of South Africa;s Infrastructure. "Scrap Yard" owners in general does not pay tax / vat on the copper cable and or other Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals, they purchace.
