Think about it, nearly one hundred years ago, men, women and children stood up to the so-called British empire! The very least every man, woman and child can do, right now, today, is to take a couple of seconds of the freedom we cherish today, and sign this petition and show your support for the sacrifices made, nearly one hundred years ago!

Some within the Establishment would like to wipe our History away. No doubt they well may be the same ilk that spat and tried to criminalize Irish Republicans and called for their execution.

Everything except Nos. 14-17 was built AFTER 1916. There is no battlefield.

Im personally glad that this Petition has been set up re Moore Street and the sacred Battlefield area!
This Goverent dont seem to care about this most sacred site in Europe!
It took my grandfather over 36 hours to die alone having been shot leading a charge up Moore Street. He managed to drag himself into the laneway now known as O Rahilly Parade where he lay bleeding to death after being hit twice by machine gun fire from Williams and Woods on Parnell Street.
These blood stained cobbled stone streets belong to the people of Ireland, no one else! The sooner that this uncaring, quango, out of touch Government realize this, the better. Shame on them, they wouldnt exist only for the brave men, our forefathers whom gave their lives.
The world is looking on now as we approach 2016, yet this Government have turnrd a blind eye on our history and sacred streets!
Roll on the Election, like the Titanic before them, they think their unsinkable!
Think on!
Is mise, Proinsias O Rathaille.

The Kildare County Manager has agreed to erect a statue to Ernest Shackleton in Athy in 2016, at the behest of the FF organisation in Athy. Sir Shackleton was an avid Unionist and opposed Home Rule. Wolfe Tone and Lord Edward Fifzgerald were Kildare men - lets erect a statue to them and let's not forget the men of 1916 who died to make our country free, unlike Shackleton who wanted to keep Ireland a province of England. Information on how to remove an insult to Irish Independence urgently reqd.

As the final surrender site of the 1916 rising Moore St. Is hugely significant in the instigation of the irish free state and the Republic and therefore should be reverred, respected and mmaintained in the memory of the great irish revolutionaries who gave their lives in the cause for irish democracy.
