i think the e-toll is the biggest mistake ever. one can not pay R100 to use less than 20km of tar. sanral lied to people that they will pay 75c/km. this is worse than the 10% of your wealth paid to the romans in ancient time. i think they must be detroyed. goverment is taking 33% of my salary as tax. pay midical aid. pay vat and rates for poor services and now i have to pay R100 for 20km. what are we left with in a country with not proper social security. in a month, using that road to and from, you will be owing sanral R4000 excluding weekends and if you travel more than 20km.

We as the people have to many taxes to deal with as it is. They have many other taxes that they can fund road works with. No need to try and squeeze blood from a stone. Im totally done in believing in this governments ability to run anything anymore. Im just done.

Generally South Africans cannot afford to pay the current bills. the price are way too far for south Africans to afford including fuel prices.
I suggest that there be an alternative way to raise funds for the maintenance of our roads such as perhaps increasing fuel levy nationally for everyone to contribute towards the maintenance of our roads.

Etoll must be scrapped and a more cost effective system such as a petrol levy of 1 to 3 cents per liter needs to be introduced as originally propose. The current loss run up by SANRAL must be born by its directors, senior executives, senior management, Jacob Zuma, the entire cabinet that was responsible for the implementation of this system and every member of parliament that supported the Etoll legislation in their personal capacities.

How can 1 person be billed if there are 4 different drivers, who cannot afford to pay e-toll, sharing the same motor vehicle?
