I am sick of our old buildings being knocked down such as Marbury hall and the old coach house that stood at the bottom of winnington hill, its time things were conserved !

Disgusting that this should be sold behind closed doors without any discussuon with the locals. Wait til you get the delivery trucks delivering at stupid o clock,  all hours or sign the petition. Come on Barnton get behind the local, we dont need another shop!!!

I  would really love to see the Beech Tree  returned to a  family friendly dining pub.  that is what the community needs and wants.  we really don't need another shop.  The town centre is accessible  and we already have 2  large shops.

P

lease don't knock it down!

I grew up in Barnton , and this would be an absolute kick in the teeth for our small local businesses , there isn't much tradition left anywhere, what the Pub does need is a complete make over on the inside mainly and landscaping to the grounds.

Typical money grabbing policies in action again, allowing a new village to be built without upgrading the already terrible traffic infrastucture, Knocking local historical buildings down so MONEY can be made, We DONT need another conveniance store, there is one literally 200 ards down the road. A little investment and some local customers would see a really good Pub/Dining experience, something lacking in the Village. Come on Barnton Parish Council stand up for your people and kick this into touch!!!!

Help save the beech tree. The beech tree has been running in Barnton as long as I can remember, we use to buy crisp and pop at the hatch when we were kids, then we use to drink there as young adults and now we take our children there to play.
Lots of memory's there.
HELP THE BEECH TREE
ITS BEEN THERE FOR YOU

I lived in barnton for many years and grew up there, the beech tree has always been a significant part of the community and even more so in recent years..
Too many retail units are opened and then closed, leaving empty eyesores.. This is a lovely building with purpose, unique and part of the heart of a community, a rare thing to find these days..
Do not destroy this for some mass produced carbon copy of retail and material consumption... Keep a gathering place of history where young and old can mix, with very little expense and where good can be done with fundraising and community ethos ...

Are the government suppose to be stopping this kind of action? I heard they were stopping the closing of pubs for convenience stores! it could be worth looking into not only for this pub but others too!

This beautiful landmark building should not be destroyed! It is an important piece of history in this community, grand and gorgeous.

Its a crying shame to even want to put a shop in this building let alone knock it down. If this is allowed it will cause more traffic and noise which would disrupt the lives of the residents nearby as well as affecting the other local buisnesses in the area. There are enough shops suitable for the community in this area. This would be surplus to requirements for local people.
