Who was the moron who came up with this terrible idea of shutting down the blood clinics? Like seriously????

Why take this away and add more pressure to the Hospital traffic??? It's already stressful for patience and staff!!

Hopefully this petition gains some momentum. Would be a shame to see the lab close.

Very sad for our City. If this happens, they better know how it will impact everyone involved.

This is ridiculous to ask everyone to go to the Medicine Hat hospital to provide their blood samples, etc. First of all where will we park and if we can find a parking stall, what will it cost. We want to be able to drive to our local outlet in our area where there are no parking problems.

There is already an overload of parking at the hospital so why would they want to overload it even more. This move would be totally insane. The staff at the Medical Labs are quick and always caring. I cannot see this working out at all. There will be more and more sick people at the hospital which is already overcrowded because of ER and visiting hours etc etc.

This government has got to go! Why is it savings can only be made on health and education? It is worth $5000000 to keep the service available. the conservatives and wild rose ought to have their blood work analyzed for drugs....

This is absurd to close this Lab. To not go to senior assistant living homes is unbelievable. Imagine taking your 93 year old parent in a wheelchair to the hospital in the dead of winter or any day before they can have breakfast.

We can't lose such a valuable resource. I think many would rather pay a few extra dollars in taxes.

We recently had to use the hospital lab.  Besides the  parking costs, the long walk to get to the entrance, etc  the techs took several tries to get blood.  They had also lost the requisition that had been faxed to them so we had a long wait until they got a new copy. At the MH labs, they are efficient and skilled.  I used to hate going for blood tests but they made it easier.  Of all the labs I have been to over the years, the MH lab is the best run, best techs.  I think this move on the part of AHS is stupid, a waste of money, etc.  It will cost a lot of people their job.  Typical AB Gov't move.  One would think they had learned from their past mistakes in Health Care.

I think we are being punished because we voted the wrong way in the last election.

To close the diagnostic labs is a ridicules idea and of no consideration for the public health care .

This is an absolute ridiculous decision that will have a negative impact on many of our seniors in our community. There has never been an issue with the performance of this lab. Not a wise decision and we all hope the government steps in and helps correct this decision. Thanks.

May save tax payers $5million but who's going to pay for the parking & inconveniences for us seniors to get around! Asfore, testers undetermined, who's to pay if the intention is to privatize? Where is the money saving for us tax payers then?

Now AHS is saying that blood collection will not be done at the hospital but at collection centres.  That is one step in the right direction.  But I sure hope that MHDL would stay to be the centre for blood collection.  Pay Dr. Chow rent to use his facility which he just recently renovated.  Computers are in place..blood collection rooms are in place..people are in place who do the bold draws...office staff is place who do the ascension...billing etc.  AHS please do not keep this staff at a limb!  They need their jobs tell them that now. This facility is so busy and staff there is so well liked. Have a heart and do the right thing.  Keep our people employed and living in this city.
