I believe that opinions of parents are being pushed aside when it comes to sex education and that too much opinion is wanting to taught as facts. Additionally, some material seems to be encouraging of sexual curiosity at too early an age.

Parents have the final say over how their children are raised and we must not give up control to those who don't share our values or our love for our kids.

I am a parent of three girls and have a very open relationship with them. I teach and talk with them about sex and their bodies. I do not want another person teaching them their spin on the subject! I love my daughters I do not love what the State or education board wants to teach them! Stay out of it!!

We need some kind of sex education classes. Many parents don't take this responsibility. If they don't, the kids will find out from experimention or from friends. I watched this for 36 years as a teacher.

Because I agree with it. Sex ed is best left to the parents and not the school.

I signed this petition because I believe that these rules should be enforced. Parents should be in control of what they teach their children and be vigilant of whether they agree with what the government is teaching their children.

I think at that age kids are just to young, also parents should be given the opportunity to have that one on one talk with there children's or children. That way they can get an idea where the child head is at.

Be involved in your children's future and what they are taught and learn.

Because I'm a parent of children & I should have the right to control or opt in on what sexual education is taught to my kids

This proposed new sex ed is absolutely the worst thing we can do for the children.

I value family, and I think parents, NOT the state, should make the decisions regarding what we teach our children.

I support keeping opt-in for sex ed curriculum.

Because I want all children to be protected from wrong information. They need facts based information about functions of the physical body and not about sexual behaviors.

Because children need to be taught by their parents about this topic.

Parents should know what is being taught to their children and have the right to opt out of having their children exposed to inappropriate material.

Parents have the right to sign off on all materials and should be able to opt their children out of sex education. The last thing I want my kids being taught is alternative lifestyles and masturbation is acceptable. It does not go along with my cakes of abstinence before marriage and fidelity after marriage.

I believe the current sex education material and opt-in policy are the correct policy. That leaves the important responsibility of educating one's child/ren about the physical, emotional and moral aspects of sex in the hands of the parents:Where it ought to be.

Why do we have to keep making our opinions clear?? Or
How many times do we as parents have to say the same thing?? Or
When will CCSD finally get the message that the current SexEd changes are unacceptable??

CCSD has no business "educating" our children on what THEY consider to be "appropriate" sexual behavior. Parents have the right - even if we don't agree with them - to decide what "appropriate" means in their family's value system.

We are completely against the school district teaching our children about sex education

Because parents should have control over what their children watch, not by force of a school. It is not the business of the school to be informing young children of sexual activity and even less at a young age.

Because the children naively will accept the teachings from gay or lesbian teachers as true and this will distort their lives forever.

Children have to be protected from those things that imply a wrong way in early ages.
