I driven Route 66 and plan on doing again. New bridge is not the same as repairing the old one. Repairing the old bridge will draw more people than making a new bridge. That my thought on it. Dave Baylis

We are looking forward to coming from Australia soon, these type of attractions are what make driving Route 66 worthwhile

Keeping the history of the mother road is as important as keeping the history of our president's. Having a flea market business in Gardner Il. on Rt.66 for the past year we have had visitors from 18 counties and 24 states sign are guest book since March of 2014.

We need to preserve history. Without it,there would be no present day.

I believe it is critical that all government bodies invved should step in to save an important part of our American past. I understand that all buildings and signage cant, but this involves public trans- portation and shouldnt have to come from private funding. Good Luck & lets all get the word out.

To save and repair the Gasconade Bridge! It was so purposeful during WWII we have to preserve it!

Because this is important. If it helps save the bridge, that is very important. This bridge is for us in the Ozarks, one of our icons, and needs to be seen by generations in the future.

Convince people of the need for the future generations to be able to see in real live how their parents/grandparents road to the West over this bridge. Everything you throw away is gone FOREVER. It's a pity that not everyone understands these matters !!!

This bridge is of great value to us as Americans that everything we have should not just be torn down and replaced but preserved and left for future generations to know we knew how to build good stuff!!!

#1-This bridge is a Histortic part of Route 66. #2-When there is traffic congestion on I-44 around that area, due to auto accidents, it is an easy and convienent alternate Rte. #3- Several residents living on Rt. 66 has to travel lots more miles out of their way to get on I-44.

MoDOT is behaving like ISIS, destroying landmarks.

Preserve our heritage; build a new bridge nearby.

I grew up in this area and I love this bridge. It is a big part of the town & the community. If this bridge gets tore down, part of the community gets tore down. It needs repaired, not replaced!

I'm all for saving what's left of Route 66. Love traveling along the old route and seeing a piece of Americana. Keep it alive for all to see.

I've lived in Hazelgreen for over 20 years and I used to take my kids to the river access under this bridge, however since the closure we can't go down there and it's a historic site we carried on conversation with them about. The closed area has been quite the pain for area Hazelegreen residents and people near and far. My parents live on AB and we don't see the old cars, motorcycles etc that we usually do. It's not the same!

The Hazelgreen bridge is a beautiful structure that deserves to be saved. It is a part of the Mother Road and should be treated accordingly. Too often we tear down what can be repaired. "Hazel" is worth the time and expense.

I love to photograph and fish at Hazel green bridge. Undoubtedly my favorite venue for family photos. Was hoping to teach my step daughter how to fish at this bridge because the venue is so kid friendly. Our family doesn't care to travel the interstate if we don't have to. Closing this bridge really puts a damper on the scenic route between Lebanon and Waynesville. Please don't tear down this big beauty. Somethings are petty fixed, not replaced. Not everything has to be shiny and new in this day and age. A lot of us still prefer the nostalgia of the original structure!

Please help to try and save this bridge. We can't even ride down because they put up a gate. Waste of money.
