She didn't do anything! I can only imagine there are hundreds of people who did so much worse who DESERVE to be punished and weren't! Free Miranda!

Miranda gets charges with "failure to disperse" and Umass retaliates with a year of suspension after kicking a freshman out of residential life for 2 weeks? That's just cruel.

Actually, I believe that the 15 slowest were arrested. Maybe she should have listened to the police when they told her to leave. I'm not signing this and I dont think that anyone else should waste their time.

Miranda is good friend and an incredible person. We have been friends for years. She believes in peace and equality; she was not performing any violent actions. She is trying to get a good education, and I do not believe this is a good reason to put a stop to that. Free Miranda!

If it was you I'm sure you wouldn't feel the same. You can deny it all you want, but we both know the truth.

Signing this petition isn't going to accomplish anything. Everyone was warned that failure to disperse would result in potential arrests. Accept the consequences for your actions and grow up. We're not in high school anymore.

Miranda is one of the most respectable, kind people I know. She does not deserve any of this. She is accepting the consequences of being at a riot but suspension from college for 2 months for symbolizing peace is ridiculous. There's a difference between accepting consequences and standing up for yourself.

It doesn't matter what kind of person she is. Her actions resulted in these consequences. She wasn't suspended for symbolizing peace; she was suspended for failure to disperse at a riot where numerous warnings were given.

Hey that's okay, you don't have to agree, but why would you even post if you're just being counterproductive? Imagine if it was you.

Is it not okay for people to voice their opinions? Counterproductive or not.

Hey guys can we all please stop fighting. I get that some of you don't agree and that's totally fine because you have the right to express it. If we just let the haters say what they want and not retaliate, it'll be fine. So haters, you can hate, supporters, let's just ignore them. Thanks guys.

Usually you get expelled completely for getting arrested at a riot, so this punishment is completely fair. Maybe she should've dispersed when told to.
