A very well worded petition. Even when Upton Bridge is open, the congestion on the A4440 the traffic is slowed to a crawl, even at non-peak times, but when Upton Bridge closed, due to floods, the A4440 was at total gridlock. As it is it just cannot cope with the current volume of traffic, let alone the many thousands of houses and businesses that are being proposed along it's route in the S. Worcs. Development Plan.

I have lived in Malvern for 12 years and more and more houses have been approved by the planning office. This is causing increased congestion which has noticeably got worse over the last few years. My journey from Malvern to get onto the motorway now takes an average of 45 mins which is ridiculous for a distance that should only take 15 mins max! Our road network is broken and needs fixing or planning and building needs to be rejected.

Better connection to the M5 are fundamental to the economical development of our area.

Don't let the government install half a solution. We're getting the disruption anyway. Widen the bridge at the same time.

One digger and three builders? No wonder it's going to take 52 weeks?

This southern link improvement is vital to traffic movement around Worcester.

This has been needed for many years and without it growth in the area will stagnate. It is already costing millions in lost efficiency.

Also the completion of the Worcester bypass to the northern link road would alleviate many traffic problems in and around the City off Worcester.

Its almost too late and the road should have been dual track when originally built. Some Civil Servants should have lost their job over this huge error!

It should have been dual carriageway from the outset - at least if the bridge had been built for 4 lanes then subsequent costs would have been significantly less!!!

Just look at road building in the EU - they realise the great importance to the local economy of good infrastructure projects. Better a dual carriageway than a wider traffic island.

Again... This should have been done years ago,, its ridiculous!!

This improvement is essential if the SWDP is to have any credibility. Traffic jams are a constant problme now without more house being built.

Part dualling the road between the norton roundabout and the ketch roundabout is total waste of time, money and energy. The whole road from the motorway to Powick should be done , what bunch of idiots!.

no matter what time of day you travel along the a4440 you have congestion, make it into a dual track now.

The full dueling of the southern link road along with fly overs and slip roads for the Ketch/A38 junction and the Norton/St Peters junctions is essential to remove the daily grid locks experienced on this road.

Without the access to St Peters, Norton and Kempsey from this link road local traffic would be forced back down London Road and up the Bath Road causing even more congestion.

This is a good cause petition. We need the improvement to this important link road to speed up the movement of traffic around Worcester. I might add, we also desperately need the bye pass to be completely finished all the way round to Hallow to make it a proper bye pass. This would then take a lot of traffic out of the city, speed up the movement of traffic and reduce the amount of unnecessary pollutants in the local area because of the amount of slow or stationary traffic.

Plus a separate motorway junction (M5 7a) for Malvern!

In addition to continuous dualling of the southern link road, the completion of the link road to the north of Worcester would reduce traffic congestion in the city itself.

I feel so passionately about this and it is absolutely fabulous to see some high and significant profile being given to this important and basic infrastructure issue which so fundamentally needs to be addressed to support the positive planned growth and development of Worcester in the coming years. Thank you - will be watching this with great interest.

It is madness to carry out the works they are doing now without including Carrington Bridge, it will just move the current bottleneck which can only get worse with all the new housing locally.

The traffic is terrible and gets very congested on the run up to and on the Southern link road - it was never built for 21 century traffic - or even 20 century traffic - it therefore badly needs widening- please listen to our appeals!!

About time someone realised the chaos this poor road system causes frustration for an ever increasing population!
