I am signing this petition, because i am sick and tired of commercial business or gated communities trying to push their way into Rainbow Valley. We moved out here 25 years ago to get away from the city. If I want to buy anything, i have a Safeway and Walgreen store 5 minutes away. I do not want any commercial business in Rainbow Valley. If you let one in, you opened the flood gate. We are the next push of the pboenix city sprawl! We got to stop them while we still can! Please let's work together and keep Dollar General out of Rainbow Valley!

We already have stores within 8 miles of us and we do not need to change the way of life here in Tainbow. The sounds of nature is what the doctor order for some and you let one store in then come more and then goes nature.

I moved my family from Glendale, AZ to Rainbow Valley in 2015. After living in the city for over 15 years, it was high time to move away and enjoy the fresh air, the clean air. I have a store less than 10 miles from me. I also have a gas station less than 10 miles away. I did not move out to the country for convenience.
Dollar General represents a low income community and an overall image of "poor people". My family, neighbors, and friends are far from this.
I believe that allowing them to rezone and build the Dollar General will only invite more crime, traffic accidents and city pollution. I really enjoy the fact it gets dark out here. Please do not allow this project to continue. The Phoenix metro area has lots of open space in the city. Please find another spot. We as a community have already told you NO once. Our answer isnt going to change.

I commute 45 miles to my job because I want to live in a rural area. If I wanted commercial business (or a Dollar General) I'd move back to Glendale. Also, area not large enough to support store so will HAVE to bring in outside traffic to survive. Narrow bridge north of property plus outsiders will lead to more accidents. Thank you.

I have lived in rainbow valley since 1968. I dont see a need for ANY commercial property in the area. we are close to shopping at EMR. I dont feel Dollar General can benefit our community in any way. I live out here for peace and quite and not to see stores on every corner. theres a dollar general 8 miles away if we feel the need to patronize them

If we let this happen then soon enough we'll have more companies attempting to move here. We live here for the peace and quiet. Having all these stores will disrupt it.

I don't believe a Dollar General is an appropriate fit for the Rainbow Valley community. Ours is a very rural community. People generally move to this community to get away from from businesses in general. I am currently out of state on family business and appreciate the opportunity to add my opinion to those of all of the other Rainbow Valley residents. The majority of which do not want a Dollar General in our community.

I bought my house here because there was little traffic, I could ride my horse down these rural roads, and see every star in the sky. I knew I was safe in maintaining this rural lifestyle because of the zoning which prohibited commercial construction.

My parents, my brother, and myself moved out here in 2002 and I have loved it the way it is! We don’t want city life brought out to the country life. A Dollar General or any commercial property strip is out of character for this rural neighborhood. There are several discount options and existing commercial centers in close proximity without adding a location which will result in increased traffic congestion at a bottle-neck intersection along with other concerns related to commercial property. As a telescope enthusiast the introduction of commercial lighting in the area is an additional issue. Recent increases in property lighting due to what I have to assume are safety concerns is already an encroachment on night-sky activities and the amount of lighting to ensure safe evening / night operations of commercial activity will drastically increase the light pollution in surrounding neighborhoods.

I do not want commercial shopping in the Rainbow Valley Community. This is our homes and we are all used to going in to town to do our shopping. We all know where there is a Dollar General Store is, if we want to shop there. I personally do not shop at those stores, but if I did it would not be in my neighborhood. I would personally never shop there simply because if is being forced upon us.This company has not sent out any surveys or letters to us to ask if we want that store in our neighborhood. I understand that over half of the residents here has signed the petition to not allow it here. Please everyone sign it.
