The horses should be free to roam, and should all be together. If some are separated from the main herd, they should be let out to join with the main herd.

(Gansbaai, 2018-11-09)

#2

(Fiesherhaven, 2018-11-09)

#7

The horses can't get to their normal feeding and roaming grounds. They are a beautiful and majestic icon of the rooisand and fisherhaven area. And I simply just love horses

(Fisherhaven hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#8

I am concerned for their well being after being free for so many generations now to be fenced in and torn from their natural habitat. Was is free let be free!

(Fisherhaven,Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#10

The person/people responsible are acting with no regard to a very important piece of natural heritage, and need to feel the brunt of public opinion and then be ostracised by the community

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#11

These are wild horses that belong to a herd. they are not a troop, Harras or stable of horses as they are wild and they have family on the other side of the fence. this egotistical cruelty must be stopped!

(cape town, 2018-11-09)

#12

If there is elephants coming they will kill the horses and they have been there first before any fence. Let them free

(Vredenburg, 2018-11-09)

#35

These horses are part of the heritage of the area. They do not belong to any single person. Whoever traps them or takes them is guilty of theft to the community.

(Abu Dhabi , 2018-11-09)

#36

Die perde loop al vir ongeveer 200 jaar daar en nou "steel" die man ons erfenis en kan siektes vir gee en hul uitwis.

(Swellendam, 2018-11-09)

#37

Free the Rooisand Horses - how cruel this is for a private individual who bought property - automatically claim ownership of these Feral Horses that have roamed free in the area for decades. Some horses have been separated from the main herd who are imprisoned in electrified fences, by a selfish individual who should be imprisoned himself for this outrage.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#39

I grew up seeing these horses roam free, it was always a nice surprise if we spotted them on our walks on the stretch of beach between Fisherhaven & Kleinmond. It is blantant that this land owner who has fenced them in is doing this for his own economic adavantage.

(Swiss Alps , 2018-11-09)

#40

What is being done is wrong in every sense.

(Cape Town & Fisherhaven, 2018-11-09)

They cannot be held captive.

(Fisherhaven, 2018-11-09)

#45

I'm signing because I feel the horses should be free... How can someone else decide their fate? These horses have been roaming free for years and years and now they are being held captive asof the did something wrong.... Free the horses

#46

These horses need to be freed

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#52

I am very disappointed at this unkind act.

(Cape Town, 2018-11-09)

I've been there and I know all the history of the wild horses. They deserve to be free and belong to nobody. Let them roam like they have done for decades!!

(México city , 2018-11-09)

#64

These horses have Always been free to roam. They are part of the lifestyle and ecosystem of the area. Humans should care for animals and nature as a whole. We should not be allowed to make short sighted and life threatening decisions like destroying ecosystems for personal gain.

(Melkbos Strand, 2018-11-09)

#69

Freedom is a right! Taking away their freedom is wrong on so many levels!

(Cape Town, 2018-11-09)

#89

Those wild horses have been roaming the area free for eons. They are a national treasure and as wild horses, they should be free, not held captive by fences.

(Suurbraak, 2018-11-09)

#91

These horses clearly do not belong on Lamloch Farm and why on earth does the landowner want to trap them? After all there are plenty horses and ponies looking for care if they want to keep horses

(Cape Town, 2018-11-09)

#93

I feel strongly that these horses should be free.

#102

This is a travesty.

(Hermanus , 2018-11-09)

#107

I believe that the wild horses should roam as they have been for all these years. Also cutting of part of the breeding stock would be detrimental to the breeding and inbreeding of the horses.

(Kleinmond, 2018-11-09)

#110

These are wild horses, owned by no one. They need to be set free.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#119

They are wild and free and should remain so

(Cape Town , 2018-11-09)

#125

They must be free ! Point!

(Sand Bay Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#128

I think this is terrible, there should be a way of allowing the horses their freedom to pass through to get back to their team.

(Milton Keynes, 2018-11-09)

#129

They should be free as they’ve always been - not fenced in and separated. They’re not dangerous they are wild.!

(Hertfordshire, 2018-11-09)

#130

The feral horses are a part of Kleinmond's natural heritage, they are a tourist attraction and adds to the romantic charm of the town and surrounds. Fencing them in and separating the herd is selfish, cruel and destructive on many levels.

(Kleinmond , 2018-11-09)

#137

The horses belong to no-one and should be free to roam where they wish.

#152

They wild horses dont think they should be held on a farm been here before1 i was even born

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)

#153

This is not only animal abuse re the horses but also acts as a constraint that restrcts on all wildlife movement in this fragile wetland/estuary.

(Stanford , 2018-11-09)

#155

These horses do not belong to anyone but nature and themselves. Let them run free

(Cap Town, 2018-11-09)

#157

-I think it’s illigal
-It’s not environmentally friendly
-The horses have been there for 100 years and he is stopping something which has been there longer than him
-it’s an eye sore
-it’s causing the animals stress
- the animals are not his to claim

(George and Fisherhaven , 2018-11-09)

#160

The horses should be let out of the enclosure

(CAPE TOWN, 2018-11-09)

(Somerset West, 2018-11-09)

#181

they need to live free..they are wild and need to run around...

(Betty's Bay, 2018-11-09)

#184

Cutting the land up with boarders and fences is exactly contra the natural flow of animals and life. Animals need to be able to move around freely to live properly. if you block thier natural paths you block thier life flow. We didn’t realize this in the past, but now we do. If we don’t learn from the mistakes we have made in treating our environment we will destroy it and ourselves with it. Each little path of free flow helps, each hinderence is a step closer to the end.

(Cape town, 2018-11-09)

#185

Money cant take what belongs free

(Kleinmond, 2018-11-09)

#187

The horses must be allowed free to roam as they have done in the past.

(Onrusriver, 2018-11-09)

#196

They should continue to roam as in the past. They should not be restrained as is now happening.

(Pringle Bay, 2018-11-09)

#199

The horses are NOT up for ex-appropriation. No one has that right. The game farm cannot possibly exist in conflict with those who care for the horses.

(KLEINMOND, 2018-11-09)

#200

Free the wild horses

(Hermanus, 2018-11-09)
