Free the Rooisand marsh horses!

Comments

#401

The horses are 'free range', and do not belong to anyone and should not have their territory curtailed

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#402

The wild horses should be free and live with their herd.

(Bettys Bay, 2018-11-10)

#403

I’m so sad to hear this news. Please release those horses immediately They were roaming free before you bought this land.

(Gordon’s Bay, 2018-11-10)

#408

That Lamloch guy has no right to trap the horses. They do not belong to him. Why is he being such an *******? He sounds like someone who shouldn't be around animals because his actions clearly show he's not empathetic and doesn't care for the freedom of the Rooisand horses. What a pos. Let the horses go. They DO NOT BELONG TO YOU!!!

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#410

Please free the wild horses!!! It's very heart breaking to see them like this

(Kleinmond, WC, 2018-11-10)

#413

They are free horses always been they are beautiful in the wild please leave them to roam free

(CAPE TOWN, 2018-11-10)

#414

It's wrong to keep those wild horses separate from their herd. They must be released back into the wild!

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#416

It's the right thing to do

(Cape town, 2018-11-10)

#422

These horses are meant to be feral / not enclosed!!!! They belong to SA not one person!!!!

(Cape town, 2018-11-10)

#423

It is unthinkable that these horses are now separated and fenced in, after surviving for so long in the wild.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#425

The horses need to be free and not seperates

(Johannesburg, 2018-11-10)

#426

I grew up with the wild horses, it is not right for one person to restrict the moevemts of these wild animals as if he owns them.

(Kleinmond , 2018-11-10)

#427

As stated they must be free to roam.

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#428

I love the Rooisand Wild Horses. One of my reasons we lived in Kleinmond. Wild horses should roam freely. A herd is now split in two.

(Swellendam, 2018-11-10)

#430

They are wild and need to be free

(Somerset wdst, 2018-11-10)

#433

The horses belong the people of South Africa - not the owners of Lamloch farm

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#436

Because the horses need to be freed and allowed to roam their natural habitat that they have had for many years!

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#441

Because this is imprisonment & these beautiful majestic animals do not deserve this!! :(

(Muizenberg, 2018-11-10)

#443

The horses are wild and are adapted to the estuary environment. They have visited Lamloch in the past, of their own free will, not forced to be confined.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#444

Rooisand horses are wild horses they deserve to be free the owner of the farm that they are trapped in let them go they don't belong to anyone let alone you.

(Betty''s Bay, 2018-11-10)

#446

These horses needs to be preserved in their wild natural state for numerous reasons!

(Hopetown, 2018-11-10)

#447

The horses must roam free!

(Centurion, 2018-11-10)

#454

The horses deserve to be reunited

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#456

I object to the raising of a fence across a wetland and splitting an ecosystem. I am also doubtful of the legality of laying claim to a section of an estuary in this way. The horses have lived in harmony with this system for as long as they have been there.

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#457

Who did this? And Why? These horses must be let free immediately. This is ridiculous.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#462

I have lived at Meerensee for 20 years and these horses have for a century lived and roamed freely between Rooisand, Kleinmond and Sandown Bay!
This is unbelievable greed and arrogance!
How dare he!!!!

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#464

Several wild horses of Rooisand are being kept prisoner inside a newly fenced area. They need to be released without delay

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#465

The horses don't have a voice - especially against cruel and selfish people who are too wealthy to care. It's a disgrace that there is not more support for these horses from the authorities of this region.

(Johannesburg, 2018-11-10)

#468

I used to live in Fisherhaven and the horses are very close to my heart. They are some of the very last herds of wild horses in SA and that needs to be maintained! Free them so the can be what they are born to be: FREE!

(Brits, 2018-11-10)

#469

This comes down to steeling that does not belong to him. Corruption in another form

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#475

I want to free the wild horses!!!

(Kleinmond , 2018-11-10)

#479

I am a former rider and horses are among the most intelligent and beautiful creatures. Let them live out their lives in peace.

(Hermanis, 2018-11-10)

#480

I was a resident if Fisherhaven for years so I know the story of the horses well.

These creatures must be returned to nature, they do not belong to the person who has fenced them in, by doing so, this person has effectively stolen them.

The were wild and free, healthy and happy. Please allow them to run free again. They have survived and brought so much pleasure to the residents and visitors alike.

(De Rust, 2018-11-10)

#481

If I can add my name to bring attention for positive action for freeing the horses to said landowner then I will.

(Cape Town , 2018-11-10)

#482

Everything must be done to protect the wildness of these horses in a free habitat.

(Johannesburg, 2018-11-10)

#486

Save their heritage

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#502

The horses must be free to roam and not behind electric fence.

(Cape, 2018-11-10)

#504

How cruel abd for what reason?????

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#506

They have always been free and as longtime resident if Kleinmond I hate seeing them fenced in. They have survived for many many years.

(Kleinmond , 2018-11-10)

#508

The fence must come down

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#509

Because all animals deserve and have rights and people just mess everything up

(Stilbaai, 2018-11-10)

#516

I believe the horses are accustomed to being left alone in the wild. And know how to.take care of themselves. Being a horse person. Domesticating these horses will take alot of man power and finances they roam free graze free. Unacceptable they should not be locked up!

(Hpwicl, 2018-11-10)

#518

These horses are part of our heritage. They do not belong to one person. They belong to everyone and our voices must be heard. It is a case of animal abuse to keep free roaming sentient beings confined.

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#522

Keep the wild horses wild and free

(Fisherhaven , 2018-11-10)

#523

This is so sad. Wild horse are sooo rare. Let's please protect them. I beg you!

(Bettys Bay, 2018-11-10)

#525

(Cape town , 2018-11-10)

#527

The horses are part of Fisherhaven. They have roamed the streets freely for yeara now and no one can claim responsibility for them

(Cape town, 2018-11-10)

#528

I really want animals to live a life they deserve

(Gauteng, 2018-11-10)

#530

The horses have tihe right to roam their territory

(Constantia, Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#531

I would like to see the horses free to roam where they always have

(Betty's Bay, 2018-11-10)

#536

The horses should be free

(Vermont, 2018-11-10)

#537

It is unfair to them.. and not meant to be locked up. Secondly he did not buy the horses and cannot keep them for evenrually his own financial gain! They are like birds: free to roam!

(Kleinmond, 2018-11-10)

#539

They have the right to free movememt!

(Cape Town , 2018-11-10)

#540

This is not right. Totally object.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#542

I live in Fisherhaven and see these horses everyday and appreciate rhem where they are.

(Hwrmanus, 2018-11-10)

#544

I believe wild animals should be allowed to roam freely and not be cut off from being free.

(Wellington , 2018-11-10)

#554

This is a disaster, let the last free horses in the western cape be free, stop the destruction of the herd.

(Cape Town , 2018-11-10)

#558

Free nature! Tired of fenced nature and all the game camps fences all the way to kleinmond spoiling the natural environment landscape and all the imported animals looking artificial invasive foreign disrespectfull intrusive with no sense of place in mind but all for the money!

(Bettysbaai, 2018-11-10)

#559

These horses should be roaming free not trapped on a game farm with wild animals.

(Cape Town , 2018-11-10)

#564

I've personally met these gorgeous free roaming horses and am very upset at the thought of them being restricted like this. Totally unacceptable

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#571

The wild horses should stay wild and free...let them out!

(Sandwich, 2018-11-10)

#572

These horses need to be freed!! Stop this cruelty now!

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#576

They should and must be free!!!!!

(Karibib, 2018-11-10)

#578

These horses deserve to run free as they have been for many years - not fair to enclose them

(Pringle Bay, 2018-11-10)

#579

The horses should be running free in their natural habitat and Lamloch should be restrained from holding the horses as captured animals.

(Gordons Bay, 2018-11-10)

#581

The herd needs to be together and we urge the land owner to do the right thing.

(Pringle Bay, 2018-11-10)

#582

I agree with this post wholeheartedly. On this farm We say the horses must be FREE. They must be let out in order to graze again at the eastern edges of the Bot, and to find their way past the massive electrified fence to the western marshes and grazing resources that are plentiful for them.

FREE THE ROOISAND HORSES! Let them live their destinies, roaming in the marshes unhindered by the human hand. Stop exploiting them!

(Wynberg, 2018-11-10)

#584

There is in obligation to have acceptance of your decisions regarding wildlife and incarcerating these horses without consensus with others concerned with their well-being is not condonable

(Kenilworth , 2018-11-10)

#585

I'm signing this petition because my family went every year for vacation and I grew up with the stories of the wild horses. I love horses and feel that they must be free.

(Worcester , 2018-11-10)

#586

These horses deserve to roam free!!!

(Cape Town, 2018-11-10)

#590

Protect our nature! Protect what is left and not yet destroyed by humans!!!!

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#591

Because I love free animals as long as they stay off busy roads.

(Greyton, 2018-11-10)

#593

Wild horses should be free! They are my heritage as much as they are yours. You have no right to keep them in captivity behind your fences!!!

(Muizenberg, 2018-11-10)

#595

These horses have always roamed free. Cant lock them up

(Cape town, 2018-11-10)

#597

I lived in Fisherhaven and fell absolutely in love with their beauty. They are born wild and should be llowed to continue their lives wild.

(Hermanus, 2018-11-10)

#598

Please let the horses roam free again!!!!

(Pringlebay, 2018-11-10)

#599

I used to horse ride around Fisherhaven in the 80's and the wild horses would always come galloping over to have a good look at us. They always kept their distance and we never interfered with them. Precious memories

(Middlesbrough , 2018-11-10)

#600

Horses have roamed freely for years and should be allowed to continue to do so. They are a tourist attraction in there natural habitat as free roaming animals.

(Betty's Bay , 2018-11-10)
