I think it is crazy that the major airport in the south of the country is losing business because it is not allowed control. It MUST be saved.

If Cork airport is gone, to get connection to some world locations would mean a train/bus to Dublin, flight to Heathrow and then on to the long haul flight

2005: the Irish Government was pushing to make Cork, the "second biggest cities of Ireland", grow as one of the European Cities of Culture Designation, to highlight the richness and diversity of European cultures and the features they share and promote greater mutual acquaintance between European Union citizens. Cork Airport was enhanced, flights were increased and Cork could be reached from all Europe. Ten years later Cork Airport is threaten to be closed? Where is this aim going to end? We've experienced massive increase of the prices for the flights departing from Cork, but most of all the cutting of too many flights. Some of the biggest companies in the world are based in Cork, many of which employ foreign people. This involves flying back home often, and having relatives and friends calling over. In the perspective of growing culturally and economically, and of enriching the diversity of the city with foreign influences, how can the cut of flights to the major capitals of Europe, and the monopoly of Aerlingus and Ryanair could help managing the growth? Or should we think that only Lanzarote and Tenerife are Europe?

Cork Airport should get the same deal as Shannon got a debt write off worth €100 Million (won't even go into all the former Shannon Development property handed over with an annual rent roll of ???) and its own controlling company.

Minister Simon Covney and his colleagues in the Dail should get off their arses and do something about the Airport debt.

Ba cheart go bhfuil aerfort laidir againn i gCorcaigh. Cuir deireadh chomh luath is feidir ar an bpolasaí bainistaíocht atá ann anois. Caithfimid bheith neamhspleach.

So much is being done to promote the tourism of SW Ireland and yet if these cutbacks go ahead so many people from all corners of the world will be having serious second thoughts about visiting here and the struggle they will have through lack of transport. There will be such a loss of income for the area.

Why if you live in cork must we travel to Dublin if we want to fly out of this country. Is it because cork routes are not viable or is it because Dublin routes would not be viable without the flood of out of county travellers.

Cork airport is a vital link for my business travel worldwide via Amsterdam. The south and south-east of Ireland has a pressing need to keep Cork airport operational, since it is the key gateway to international business and travel.
