Sorry to hear of your loss, I hope you get your wish.
As a Driving Instructor one of the things I always strive for with my pupils is what can happen once they have passed their Driving Test, it is usual the one who cause the accident that walks away, leaving the victims side to deal with the pain and grief of it all.
As well as lights at the junction in question we need tough laws for crimes like this in the hope it will start to deter this kind of atrocity

Too many people have died on this road, either in or on vehicles or pedestrians. Wasn't so long ago a young man was killed while out jogging. Its about time there were traffic calming measures in place, obviously the idiot drivers take no notice of the speed limit like responsible drivers do, like this young couple did.

I sincerely hope that the right people take notice of this petition and lights are put at this junction, my 17 year old daughter is currently learning to drive and already hates that junction. We are truly sorry for your loss and wish you well in your quest to help prevent this happening again and another familiy suffer. xx

Such tragic events can be stopped by something as little as putting traffic lights on that part of the road, rip Aaron and Amy xxx

So proud of this family. They must be absolutely torn but they're dealing with it by trying to help others with this petition. If Amy and Aaron were anything like you they were thoughtful, kind and generous. So sad that they're gone.

I used to live just off Barton Road 35 years ago and used to have to dice with death every morning to go to work when boy racing wasn't heard of. There should have been traffic lights then but even more so now. How many more people have to be killed before something is done!!!

I use this road every day and after this recent tragedy I have seen people are still speeding down this road at 60+ something needs to be done because bringing down the speed limit did nothing

If traffic lights can prevent awful situations in the future then there should be no question about it. RIP aaron and amy

This was a tragic incident, not an accident because an accident is beyond people's control this involved two drivers being completely irresponsible driving 'killing machines' without due care and attention. Resulted in this beautiful couple who had everything to live for being stolen prematurely from their families.
Something must be done so that Amy and Aaron's passing is not in vain!
Our thoughts and hearts go out to little Alfie and the families and friends.

I live at the bottom of Barton Road and have seen numerous crashes in the 14 years I have lived there. Enough, it's time to do something before yet another innocent life is taken.

It isn't just traffic lights .it is impossible for pedestrians to cross safely unless they walk upto eccles road . Lancaster road traffic lights do not accommodate pedestrians adequately .it is a ridiculous state of affairs when all that money is being ploughed into extra lanes for buses no one is going to use when public safety is being neglected .

I wittnessed the awful aftermath & carnage of the crash on the east lancs road, Sunday 22nd June 2014. It will stay with me forever... The deaths of two young innocent people cannot go ignored, there was a serious incident on the same stretch of road only week's ago in which thankfully there were no fatalities. It was only a matter of time though sadly.
Something needs to be done before there are any more needless deaths. Thoughts & prayers are with botn families.

RIP Aaron & Amy x
