I grew up in mitchell's plain, lived there for 33 years, my grandmother & numerous family members still live there. All we want is to be able to live in peace, not too worry about all the violence. That's not normal. We should not have to be afraid to walk down the road or to go shopping or too afraid to leave the house to go to work. It's crazy. It's like living in a warzone.

Concerned about the safety of children. they are faced with gang rivalry on a daily basis, house breaking and violence. shooting has become such a norm that my 12 year old speaks about it in a very casual manner! our kids not safe walking to and from school and madrassa. every morning each concerned parent saids a silent prayer to keep them safe and sound till we return home at night from work. as we never know what awaits us. God protect our angels.
