If this doesn't happen we should stage a group ride using both available lanes to highlight the problem

I has spoken to Network Rail and they will not consider that in fact they are going to install cctv, they said we have to take it up with RCBC so I have and there are no plans fo a cycle path, so it's it to us, this is only the start has anyone got any idea's ?

Wouldn't take much, already a branch line from nunthorpe to guisborough. A mere bridge for safe passage over the railway line.

There is no safe cycle route between Guisborough and Middlesbrough so let's get one for us cyclists.

Has anyone spoken to Sustrans? Maybe an idea.

The government is keen to increase cycling in the UK. This is a very obvious improvement which could be made.

The Sustrans have been involved but it's to political for them to put pressure on anyone as they are funded by R&CBC

This route is ideal for introducing cycling to young children.

There would be a lot more people cycle to work from guisborough and surrounding areas to Middlesbrough.

We should be encouraging the public to cycle more.

This line should be opened up and could be as succesfull as the CINDER TRACK at whitby

I've used this as a safe commute route from Guisborough to Stockton for a few years as the alternative options of the dual carriageway or the road to Great Ayton are very busy at rush hour and have poor sight lines around various corners. The dual carriageway in particular is quite narrow meaning I've had quite a few drivers coming too close for comfort as they themselves are being overtaken in the outside lane.

For the sake of cyclists and the future of sustainable transport. Get it sorted.

Such a stupid decision to deny so many people pleasure that people the other side of the world are complaining!

Terrible decision and such a shame. It is a great walk between Nunthorpe along the disused railway line, such a shame. The railway can be crossed safely, there is simply no need.

It's an outrage this crossing cannot be used by the public. If it is safe for land owner access with slow moving farm machinery then it is safe for everyone else!

Something to be encouraged.

I can't believe how stupid the decision to block the crossing is. It wouldn't cost much more to make it a safe crossing for walkers and cyclists; cycling on the dual carriage is a scary experience!

What a load of old tosh Network Rail. Can't think of any accident at the spot ever, do the decent thing and put safety crossing in place
